Tell Me----Why Do Those Critical Of This Site, Post Here???

I think those that are critical of this site, yet continue to post here, probably have some emotional/social problems. They're probably considered to be losers from a JW point of view, so they have no friends at the Hall, yet they don't have any worldly friends either. They have nothing jobs, miss half the meetings, yet they somehow like to give the impressions that they're really strong "in the Truth" by all the uh, "incidental" witnessing they do. I think they probably keep posting here because it makes them feel good that they're "defending the Truth", even though they make total asses out of themselves by not being able to defend many of the doctrinal issues that are presented to them. Instead, in true Dub fashion, they ignore any question that they can't answer and jump from topic to topic. They then give themselves a spiritual pat on the back and tell you how spiritually strong they are and how you're nothing but an "apostate." I also think they're so lonely that ANY attention, even bad attention, is better than nothing at all to them; hence their postings become more ridiculous, more outrageous and more bizarre.

I had just such a conversation with a poster named Schizm a few weeks ago. The moron made a pathetic attempt to defend the GB and the 1914 doctrine, even though it was pointed out that he had stated in several other postings that he didn't believe Jesus returned in 1914. He ignored all my questions that he had no answer to, but when I stated that it was impossible to have a rational discussion with him and I wouldn't respond to any more of his postings, he jumped all over that and tried making out that I was running away....apparently his postings were just too much for me.

I've never been a lurker... can I post to this thread?

There are some people who just love "hit and run". Unfortunately sometimes we get stuck in the "hit" and don't quite make the "run". I used to be accused of commenting and then not sticking around for the results (pre internet). Took a long time for me to own myself, my opinions, and my actions --- surprisingly contrary to JW ethics.

I accept, without hesitation, criticism. But note the definition of that word:

    crit·i·cism ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kr
    n.

    1. The act of criticizing, especially adversely.
    2. A critical comment or judgment.
      1. The practice of analyzing, classifying, interpreting, or evaluating literary or other artistic works.
      2. A critical article or essay; a critique.
      3. The investigation of the origin and history of literary documents; textual criticism.

This implies a thought out analysis, classification, and judgement on a topic. It does not include resorting to sidestepping issues when the judgement cannot be defended.

This means that you have to be able to back up what you say with known facts, not smoke and mirrors if you are going to accurately criticize beliefs and/or actions. In short, in order to engage in a criticism, you have to answer questions.

When some come onto this site, they will question the beliefs of another, the other defends their beliefs, and rather than accept that reverse criticism, the poster will resort to abusive tactics.

Others enjoy posting to this site, not out of any real interest but just to stir the pot. These people are just not even worth my time.

They post here so that they can easily, and very deceivingly indeed, count their time 'in service'.

Sneaky little individuals, aren't they?! They should be brought up before a JC for posting in an 'apostate' website!

Gee, that's not what the elders said when I questioned them on some things!
