Well, then, I WELCOME all Jehovah's Witnesses to taste and see this place. Besides, once you start reading the threads, you can't help but want to come over and join.

Honesty, I know you had the best intentions but if afin turns out to be a pedophile, male or female, I will not have affection for her/him/it.

So, afin, the door of our tender affections is open wide. If you are cramped for room, it is not within us.

I think there are a number of reasons, some already mentioned.

I would add: that in some cases, the (often nasty) pro-JW response is a reflexive reaction to what is perceived to be an emotion "slap in the face".

And, the greater the passion in the response, the greater the cognitive dissonance the "slap" caused.

Put in simple terms: JWs post here because their buttons have been pushed. We've hit a nerve; they just haven't figured it out yet.

It could be that they are critical of the WT but don't know it yet. For example, Mr. SwordOfJah disbelieved the WT & Rand Cam connection but when he investigated it himself (he told me so) he found the truth and never touched the subject again.

He now pursues less tangible subjects that are difficult to refute...or confirm. Although he is bordeline with fanatism, he is undergoing education in this board.

Because like most Jehovah's Witness's they are agents of a large magazine and book publishing corporation, and if they do not spy and speak up for the company and maintain the corporate image they will be fired and then be shunned by other workers and department heads, until they can grabble also beg and crawl back to their jobs; which incidentally may be denied. I think lonleysheep, Mary and others have nailed it. Many are probably considered "spiritually weak" and this is their way of possibly getting their ticket to Paradise (note to Avishai: Not the one in CA). I had an experience that confirmed this about a year ago. I was nailing posters all over my town about the child molestation mess. This one lady, a spiritually weak sister took it upon herself to write a letter to the editor and call it all lies. I could not have asked for a better opportunity to witness to the community.

I responded with my own letter to the editor and backed everything up with irrefutable facts. I am sure that sister got a talking to from the elders...something like, "now Sister Weak, we realize you were trying to defend Jehovah's Organization but that is better left up to the elders, so NO more letters to the editor!" In my second letter I challenged the Jehovah's Witness elders of the community to refute my statements. Nothing from the chicken-shit jerks! I think I'll post my original poster, along with the letters to the editor for you folks...you should enjoy it.

The most fun aspect of a discussion board, at least in my jaded opinion, is the opposition.

Argue with them, toy with them, flame them, ignore them, do whatever you want to do. Like it or not, they also attract an audience.
