If I was anywhere close to you....I would go, stand up, clap and hug you. I hope that someday supporters showing up at df'ing announcements is the norm. Wow, that would be truly amazing.

Now wouldn't that be an interesting "ministry" for some Christian church group to have. Going to those meetings and giving support to those DFd.

I went to my df'ing, my then boyfriend/now hubby went with me. He asked me why I went and I couldn't come up with an answer. Right after it was announced, I walked out. Yes I did cry because I was not where I am today about the org. I got DF'd for fornication, not cuz I found out they are a bunch of liars ;)

I would not give the pricks the satisfation of sitting there letting them slap me one last time.

Why not jump up right before Brother Loser makes the announcement and tell them all you quit this wacked out cult and storm out? You steal their thunder and make the whole lot feel real uncomfortable instead of the reverse.

Cindykp, if I could be there with ya, I WOULD, cher! I sat front and center for my df'ing announcement on 2/16/92, but I know now that it really isn't necessary. I had two whole rows around me all to myself! Funny.....I don't remember the date I was baptized...hehehheh

    Hugs,

As already suggested by others, do whatever you feel you need to do. At this point in life, I would not play by the Watchtower rule of sitting there and taking their parting insult and abuse. Religious shunning is nothing more than a way for a few to control the lives of many. Why play that game? Anything one does to show they are not buying it, the better. Who knows, it might awaken a few up at the KH.

squeal with delight, rush up to the stage, kiss the speaker and then start thanking the Academy, your parents, your fans etc.

LMAO@FD!! Well, if you have the stomach and cojones for it..........personally I'd have to be stoned to do it, but, I love the idea of a whole group of us going, like RWagoner said.........safety and support in numbers! LOL! I remember this "apostate" couple who used to come and sit right up front, and sing........loudly.........during songs and even raised their hands during the WT study............of course, it scandalized us all............lol............I remember we even had a meeting on how to foil their evil plans by taking up all the front rows! LOL! Looking back, I applaud their chutzpah, even tho they were of the "flaky apostate" variety...........lol.........gives Apostatedum a bad name, cuz they were loopy, like the dad made his kids eat earthworms for when Armaggedon came and he was the one who sued New Hamphsire state for forcing him to have the "Live Free or Die" statement on his license plate...........

Although they will think we're deminized.

Hey, Andi..........with all due respect, don't you think Minimus gets enough free advertising on here? If we all belong to JWD, don't we all have a little "Mini in us"? (that's your KOAN for the day) Meditate.

((((Annie)))) I can feel ya! It's been six years, maybe more for me, and I still can't even stomach the thought of going into my old congregation.........I might be able to go incognito somewhere else, but never to the old one..........too many good and bad memories..........but, I like the ideas here, cuz it shows me that we are fighting back against the shame and secretiveness and control of the Tower. Turn their "bad" into a "good" for us............very upbuilding and empowering, I think.
