Golf: Yes but I think she took an unreasonable amount of time to explain herself.

Narkissos, what came to my mind was the yield sign as a way to help the person understand some meaning to the word, reasonable. I agree sensibleness comes into play, that is common sense, but how many use or have it?

Here's an interesting thought from the scriptures. Romans 12:18 says, "If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable with all men."

Many more people would be reasonable if other factors didn't block it's path.

A Jehovah's Witness for example, may be asked a question that deserves a reasonable response.....yet because of "other factors", they cannot answe reasonably because of religious loyalty. Fear, guilt, pride, and jealousy can all block out a persons ability to reason verbally.

I'd say I'm reasonable...however emotions can cause me to lie to myself at times.

Actually Golf.......I think it applies quite often to everyday normal people.Jehovah's Witnesses for example (as you and I once were)....lied to ourselves constantly to remain Jehovah's Witnesses. We convinced ourselves what we believed was true.....though much of the time it made no reasonable sense.

I think I am but, I will call a spade, a spade and will fight for the cause........all you have to do is just agree with me and I can be anyones friend.

As a side note, it is quite funny to survey the use of the phrase "it is reasonable to (think, etc.)" (or in rhetorical question, "is it reasonable to [think]...?") in the WT publications, introducing the fanciest and wildest assertions (e.g. " It is reasonable to assume that the resurrection will take place progressively." Why, of course!)

I am unreasonably reasonable. It really pisses people off sometimes.

Gumby, '...lied to ourselves?' As a child in the org., you have no say, you go with the flow. As adults,I think we're more sucked into a good salesmanship (buying into the snake oil) talk.
