I don't understand why Moments like these happen. I learn from it. It's not fair! I am just not going to sit on my ass like a pansy blaming God!

For me, the problem is that he could stop bad things and he doesn't do it. If my kid were about to be run over by a car, and my friend just stood there and watched it all -- fully capable of running out and grabbing my kid and saving him -- I would be angry with my friend. Since God supposedly knows everything, has complete ability to do whatever he wants, and can do it at no risk or cost, it seems unjustifiable for him to let these things happen without stepping in.

The other side of the argument is that he has his reasons for not stepping in and we just don't understand them yet. There's really no way to argue against that, since it presupposes there's information that's unavailable. Some people start with faith in god, and accept that he has his reasons. Others start with nothing and demand a reason to have faith. It's the latter group that can't accept a God concept based on his allowance of such things.

I'll be glad to love them if I ever find out they exist and are worthy of love. Until then, my energies are focused on being a good person all on my own.

loving God by obeying his commandments as set forth through the bible. And yes through Hid organization. Same as in times past. Through God people isreal He gave instructions. Through a channel.

There is no organization, or organized body of followers. When Jesus came, he gave us the New Covenant, thereby releasing humanity from the bonds of the Old Testament rules. He built on to the foundation of the Ten Commandments. He also said that anyone coming to him, and asking for his forgiveness, salvation, and grace, would be given such. He never said anything about an organization. All he said that one had to do was accept HIM as their savior, and they would be saved. That was why he came to earth in the first place: so that he could die in our place as sinners.

There is no rules and regulations in the Bible (the gospels) that prevent us from celebrating his birth, Easter, Christmas, etc. There were only two laws: Love God; and love your neighbor as yourself. That about covers it doesn't it? It's *really* that simple.

God didn't tell us we have to do 10 hours a month of door to door or we would fall out of favor with him. He didn't tell us "Okay.. here's this organization over here, and you better do what they say or you will have to face a bunch of imperfect men who will decide your fate, even though they are imperfect and not inspired of God." Makes sense, right?

The New Law put everything quite clear and simple.

Defd --- Are you a jw ? You seem to be pressing the issue of an organization that speaks for God . All I can say is that time and again the WTBTS has been proven false , I would think that God wants people to know the truth at least , they do lack humility and to this day have many unscriptural beliefs .

AlmostAtheist--- The fact that innocent people die is not reason to rule out God . I can take your example and say that jesus is the resurrection , so in the end what happens in this world can be rectified in the next .

I feel that I am, at this time in my life, an agnostic.

But if there is a God...I think that he would like the person I am and how I treat others.

I think that sometimes when you have just left the JW's, that you may have a tendency to feel a bit hurt with "God". Maybe that is why I feel the way I do.

But I'd rather be a good person who doesn't know for sure if there is a God than a person who believes in God and is basically a selfish, self-righteous, unloving human being...like many of the JW's I have known over 4 decades while "in".

God allows suffering for a reason. The bible clearly tells us why. Has anyone ever shared that with you?

    Dave,

I completely understand! I want to blame God for horrible things that happen in our life! I do.

To the scenario about the child and your friend. Well Did your friend happen to give you that child? Did he also give you all the wonderful things life has to offer?

Everyone has opinions and a side of the story. No one is wrong for thinking and having an open mind. That's what God gave us a Mind.

I think the question should be:

Did Jehovah ever really love anyone?

I love the Lord, the God of the Bible, not the JW god who is painted as a hostile being who enjoys destroying people or destroying their spirit/individuality.

I recently read that "God's mercy is so much bigger than his anger". That statement has been very healing for me. The WTS teaches at every meeting that the JWs are not studying enough, preaching enough, etc etc etc. They go so far as to discourage families from taking vacations that will involve missing meetings. Or they have special talks that will basically say that anything you enjoy on this earth is evil--can't listen to music by wordly musicians who do drugs or are homosexual, can't watch ET because his finger is a phallic symbol, can't go to college because there you will be encouraged to do drugs or have illicit sex, etc etc etc. So the god of the JWs basically will never approve of you or want you to be happy.

    Anyway--that's my 2 cents.

Judgeing by your pic of you and your dog, that in itself answers your question with a Loud yes. By the look of it you love your dog. With good reason it looks like a beautiful dog. Animals bring humans so much pleasure and who do we have to thank for that? Jehovah! He is the one who created them. He created them for us! our enjoyment. Does Jehovah love us? Yes He does
