Imagine. When I was just a kid growing up in the Borg, I thought they were saying, "faithful, indiscrete slave."
And I was right.

Where it is a duty to worship the Sun you can be sure that a study of the laws of heat is a crime.

"faithful, indiscrete slave."
ROFL! Never thought of that!
I did once hear a brother in prayer thank "our grandfather, Jehovah" and wondered for a very long time what on earth he meant by that, until it finally dawned on me that he said "our grand Father, Jehovah."
nelly136- thanks. Is that really you? Lord, you're just a babe; compared to me that is.
I'm with you Nelly. When I left, way back when, I never thought of trying to get in touch with any others who had left. I couldn't go along with the chronology anymore and couldn't support the "organization" but did think they were still closer than anyone else in regards to teaching about the trinity, hell, immortality of the soul and so on. Then my cousin, a computer whiz told me about H20 and gave me the book CoC. Wow. It was a whole different outlook. I got MAD. Talking to others like myself, listening to their interaction and to their stories of why they left, gaining access to great material and proof. Believe me, it beats books all to heck and back. Suddenly you find you are not alone and that you have just cause. Suddenly you see the dirt that has been swept under the rug and the lies that have been told to hide it. No, the Internet is the best thing that has ever happened to those who oppose cults like the Jehovah's Witnesses, or oppressive governments for that matter. In the words of a country song, I Like It, I Love It, I Want Some More Of It!!! Having people like JT who have been in Bethel and served as elders and who have seen it from up and down gives an insight I would never have had on my own. I have learned a LOT on the net. I have learned a LOT from people on this very board, thanks!
