    Hmmm, interesting idea.

Old way to confirm JWs are "the truth": Jehover's Witnesses are the happiest people on earth.

NEW way to confirm JWs are "the truth": If you are happy and at ease, then you are not on the "narrow path".

    billygoat:

that is so true. i've even called a local body of elders a body of pharisees. but you made me realize who the pharisees really are, the so-called FTS.

I wounder if the Organization provides the COs and DOs a computer and then requests that they turn them in for servising so they can see if they have been surfing the net to forbidden sites. Any current COs up to giveing JWD the low down on this? Maybe I'm way over board on this but I see the GB as real control freaks and wouldn't put it past them to spy on COs and DOs this way.

Apostate websites were mentioned probably 10 times in last weeks assembly

Yeah, baby! That means we're getting through! :-) SNG <------------------ waves at the Witnesses who are disobediently reading this site

I don't know F-speakin on that. The only CO I know with a computer limits himself to emails thru Juno or one like it. I think he fears the internet on a personal basis and would not want to surf.

He is the same guy that used to call sattelite dishes 'smut catchers' - assuming that all that would use them must be hiding and watching porn all day. Judgmental minds!!!

While giving his usual spiel about how true Christians should struggle, he says that some of those who have left the truth, say they never felt better.

    "Why is this?" he says?

The answer: "They don't have to stuggle anymore."

My first thought was that this is some sort of pre-emptive strike. Implant this explanation into pliable minds and should they ever be confronted by a 'happy fader' they can simply dismiss them as lazy, no need to dwell on their reasons for happiness.

Of course, for thousands and thousands "of those who have left the truth" via the loving actions of a Judicial Committee the statement is simply untrue anyway - the 'struggle' just gets more painful.

    Ak,

He sounds like a very repressed person who is struggling with himself over watching pornography,,at least that's the way it feels to me in the way you discribe it. I wouldn't doubt that he is just acting like that infront of you because he doesn't want you to lose any faith in him as a CO. I bet he regularly reads stuff on the net that in time may free him. I think you can imagine the feeling that I have discribed and see that possiblity.

    Hey what do you think?:

"Those who leave the truth say they've never been happier"

Do you think that what caused this expression came from the deep subconscious of the CO. And that he is waking up or becoming aware of the fraud that has denied him simple happiness,,and that when this waking up to understand that become more clear in his conscious mind,,that he will see the GB as evil and plot against them for his very sad predicment.

Frankie I don't know specifically because I'm not interested in the workings of such narrow minds.

I'll tell you what though, before I read this thread I've already had the thought recently that this organization is as good as gone. They are a non-issue.

I do think you're basically right though, in that their struggle is with themselves. Even honest JWs recognize that there's the whole internal struggle which they think of as imperfection, it's not all about Satan. Forget the part about being happier, if someone is struggling with themselves how is that someone you should listen to? It's like let me know when you're done then we'll talk.

Seems like they have an answer for everything - but at least it's good to see the flexibility in thinking. Time was when active JWs were warned about how miserable ex-JWs were. One older brother used to say without a touch of irony that "The truth ruined you for a career." That is, once you "know" the truth, you cannot in good conscience follow a worldy career.
