Never shuddered in the first place. I have pity for some; disgust for others. I've always said that there are 2 types of elders, the ones that do bad things and the ones that let them. Many in the second group end up stepping down/aside because they can no longer be part of it.

Nope. Basically, I like the elders in my hall. Nobody ever made me shudder. If there is one I don't like I will ignore that person like the plague. However, because I have been through so much over the years I will not bother with any of the new ones.

They avoid me because my words are very cutting
I don't feel anything but I know that they feel very awkward and try avoid you - THAT is funny ' cos I make eye contact and keep walking towards them...wicked!
The elders are no problem at all. Their gossiping, elderette wives are the problem! If they don't know it, they'll torture their husbands till they find out the detailsl, embroider it a spread it like fine manure!
I tend to avoid the wives like a big pile of steaming dog poo on the pavement.
Ha! The last elder I ran into - in a Salvation Army - was shuddering by the time I was done with him!
Yes I do as I enter into elders meetings in fact!
