Nah...I just give 'em the evil eye and they run the other way. I did kill a big ol' fly this morning and told my HUBBY that maybe it was an elder in a former life. He said no...elders would be snakes, vermin or some sort of grub/worm. And there you go.
Do you still shudder at the sight of a Elder?

Yes I do as I enter into elders meetings in fact!
XBHERE, if you don't mind me asking , why do you shudder when you see a elder ? Is it out of disgust or fear ?
I am just curious
If you feel uncomfortable answering ,that is ok then nevermind.

:The elders are no problem at all. Their gossiping, elderette wives are the problem! If they don't know it, they'll torture their husbands till they find out the detailsl, embroider it a spread it like fine manure!
I agree Gill that the elderette wives contribute to "elder" arrogance. They have the luxury (and I know, as I have been told & seen for myself they take it) of snooping around in their husbands holy of holy tabernacle briefcases/bookbags.

I was really angry with the elders around here and whenever I spotted one of them I would get very upset.
Then one day not too long ago I was on my way to the beach to meet my daughter and a friend. It was a warm afternoon and I was cruising down the road with my windows down, my swimsuit on and playing some cool music on the CD player. I happen to notice one of the dreaded elders out and about in field service with his rather finikey pioneer wife and an elderly sister with alzheimers that they drag around to the doors with them. Every one else on this warm day was dressed for the weather, but was of course dressed in shirt and tie (probably the only person in town dressed like that unless there were any other witnesses out, but I know the rest of them work in the day.) I briefly caught the expression on his face and it was not one of joy. At that moment I felt pity for him and it kind of took the sting out of my feelings towards him. Now I see them as pitiful men clinging to their convuluted convictions. They are also scared and manipulated and doing things that they would rather not, but they are trapped into thinking that this routine of boredom and suffering will lead to their salvation--now that is pitiful...
