    You are lying about a pink unicorn - did it ever do anything for you?

    As much as your god ever did. Now, how can I tell which one (if any) really exists?

    Zen: I am backing up what I say are you?

    To be honest, you havent yet made an argument. You have stated beliefs as fact, without backing them up with reasoned argument. Many Christians on this site are able to back up their beliefs with some degree of argument and logic, although neither side can prove beliefs. At least their line of argument, backed up by accurate scriptures, history, archaeology, textual criticism etc etc affords them some degree of credibility. Which of the 10,000 Christian religions to you currently consider yourself?

    Hib-- I can give you reasons why I believe what I believe, but I have at no time pretended to KNOW I am right as you have... I dont like lying.

    Thank you jaffa. We've all had our own personal demons to deal with. I'm not saying I won't ever believe in something in the future. But right now, I feel so disillusioned by religion and God, that I just can't believe right now. Maybe something will change and something will happen. But now, I just need to learn to trust myself.

    Hibiscus,

    I have prayed to the Buddhas for you. Many blessings on your journey along the Noble Path of the Buddhas. Hopefully our prayers will be answered by the Great compassionate and benevolent Enlightened Beings.

    You have also thown off the the wise and noble truths of the I Ching and ignored the Buhhdas. I implore you find the way and the truth of your errant ways. For even Buddha punished evil.

    It is the ultimate reality as well as the proper natural way of life humans must follow. Taoism prizes naturalness, nonaction, and inwardness. Your posts fail to show meekness and humblness to be enlightened upon your spiritual journey.

    May you consider our Taoist idea for the day to moderate your views...

    Would an optimist say a glass is half full,
    Where a pessimist would say it is half empty?
    A glass may be made of anything,
    But its function lies in its emptiness.
    That emptiness may be filled with whatever we choose.
    The pessimist sees future potential;
    The optimist sees only what is gone.
    While others grow thirsty as they debate this point,
    A Taoist drinks the water,
    And is refreshed.

    So each must find their way along the path to enlightenment Hibiscus. You are showing contempt for your fellow man and being abusive of Buddhas flock. For as you know there is no heaven nor hell. Obey the rules of karma and free yourself from those bonds. Only then is a soul ready to begin it's journey. Reincarnation is as Buddha has taught. Do not err from these ways my child. You are in my prayers to recieve englightenment my dear child.

    Chia, Good for you!

    I was in a similar, but not so bad, religion until my late teens. It has taken me 28 years to even feel like opening the Bible again. Ironically only through trying to warn someone against becoming a JW, did I study again. But in a completely different way. Another thing that led me back to belief is my studying science.

    I'm sure someday I'll get to a point where I'm at peace, no matter what I try to believe, but for now I am so angry at religion, at God, at intolerance, at everything. I get very distressed when people preach by words, ie, "I'm right because I say so!" instead of showing by actions what a truly spiritual person should be like. That's what I want to be spiritual. It doesn't necessarily have to be Christian. But I want to have...harmony...I want to feel like I've done something positive on behalf of others. That's all I really want in the end.

    Hibiscus,

    When you use the Way to conquer the world,
    Your demons will lose their power to harm.
    It is not that they lose their power as such,
    But that they will not harm others;
    Because they will not harm others,
    You will not harm others:
    When neither you nor your demons can do harm,
    You will be at peace with them.

    The I-Ching tells it.

    The truth is, God does not arbitrarily send people to hell. They choose to go there. And nobody is more heartbroken over this than God:

    The Lord is not… willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
