Nice summary. I see they still wield the Bible like a hammer, pounding away with their ridiculously close-minded view of the world.

When I attended those things, I felt beat up, not refreshed. It was a constant pounding with the same old refrain.

More than that, shera! All of life was like living a nightmare! It's only from the outside do you see how much of a nightmare it was. Kinda like waking up from a very very bad dream.

    New Release here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/92777/1.ashx

Ithink: What did you think about the talk that focused in the inactive. I heard it was very "loving and inviting".

Also did you notice that the drama was almost complete fiction about Timothy's life (not scriptural).

"There is evidence that Jesus likely instituted specific times for gathering his followers together for worship."

GREAT stuff. Enjoyed it thoroughly. On this, it is likely. Highly likely. He was Jewish, after all. Pretty strong evidence, actually, just by reason of race. His followers "likely" had specific times for gathering together for worship prior to following him. They were Jewish, too.

That fact doesn't mean anything. It just happens to be likely.

i am glad to hear about the "no regrets" thing.

jws aren't as stupid as the watchtower wishes they were. this stupidity will lead to some leaving.

    others will just ignore it.

km 5/00 p. 8 Finding Joy in Your Sacred Service ***

The instruction session that Jesus conducted with the 70 disciples has been likened to a modern-day Service Meeting. He provided training so that they could effectively accomplish their ministry. (Luke 10:1-16)

km 6/94 p. 3 Meaningful Meetings for Field Service ***

At Luke 10:1-11, we have a record of a meeting Jesus held with the 70 newly assigned disciples to help them prepare for field service. He provided specific directions to help them get organized, prepare what they would say, and deal with difficult situations. We can learn by examining this account.

Evidently all 70 disciples were present for the meeting with Jesus. Much time is wasted at meetings for service if some individuals habitually come late. Their tardy arrival usually makes it necessary to reorganize car groups as well as territory assignments. This often causes the entire group to be delayed. All of us can do our part by arriving on time and being ready to proceed promptly to the territory.

    The WTS is very crafty.

I hate that the drama is all about not going to college. THat means my mother is going to fuss about me trying to get ready for college...

Gee- why do they have to make it so hard!!

Richie, is your dad a JW? If not, he can demand/order (sort of) you to go and you have to obey him as your father if you are living at home.

I saw several JW guys do that.

Have to go to college; have to obey my dad; don't want to stumble him; he might study and become a JW.
