Yes my disfellowshipping was a loving act, because in biblical times I would have been stoned to death for my actions. But because they are loving they "allowed" me to live.

I feel that love every day.

It's an interesting theory. It has no basis in reality. People that are kicked out and shunned at emotionally vulnerable times of their lives are not brought closer to god. In reality, they are typically scarred and rarely ever completely recover.

The whole DFing thing is such a power trip for those in the higher end of the organizations spectrum. I think they find it fun to screw with people's lives.

Well Danny I guess you didn't make your self clear on all the things involved in df'in or maybe I didn't really understand you.

At any rate I don't want to hurt your feelings and slam you.

It is what I "thought" you said that I disagree with .

The Bible clearly commands: "In accord with the Holy One who called you, do you also become holy yourselves in all your conduct, because it is written: ‘You must be holy, because I am holy.’" (1 Peter 1:15, 16) Ever since the Christian congregation came into existence 19 centuries ago, true Christians have put up a hard fight to protect it from spiritual and moral uncleanness.—Jude 3.

The "Loving" provision of DF'ing is equal to that of an elder coming to your house, taking a GIANT poo right in front of you on your carpet, and accusing you of being "unspiritual" if you get angry thus negating any implication that it keeps the congregation "clean".

Superb. Years ago, when I was put on probation (equivalent to a private reproof), I was informed, at regular intervals, of how fortunate I was not to be living in ancient Israel where I would have surely been stoned to death.

For some reason, this statement brought up within me a deep desire to say "F*ck off!". Goodness knows why.

when they told me that i would have been stoned to death i told them dont you dare quote the mosaic law to me unless you are prepared to abide by it..

i would have taken stoning any day of the week and twice on sunday rather than the treatment they gave me
