Zev,

Here at my house , 1400 ft up on a hill . After being here during a big thunderstorm you may need the twalet
The safest place is at a kingdom hall.
God protects the building
A car it creates a FARADAY cage around you
Tires won't protect you from one hundred million to one billion volts. Their steel belted anyway. Safest place is underground surrounded by a gold, silver, or copper grid. Go to center of house away from windows or conductors.
The safest place is walking in an open field where you are the highest point, and holding an umbrella up...
The safest place would be on the roof holding an umbrella in one hand and a ground wire in the other hand. If that is not possible, then try taking a showing while talking on the phone.
Elsewhere, That reminds me of the birds, standing on a high voltage wire, and feeling nothing. They just aren't grounded.
Stilla is correct.
If your car or pickup has a metal roof it is the safer place. The tires have nothing to do with it since they have carbon and metal in them and will conduct to ground that which the metal cage delivers to them.
It is the metal cage effect that carries the voltage around you and down to the ground. An all metal building is even safer.
A house with a metal roof AND ground wires from the corners to the earth, is also a good shelter.
In the standard house, stay inside and avoid being close to any electrical outlet, light, phone lines etc.
Avoid trees and telephone poles if in the open, find a ditch or lower place and lay down flat.

Thank you. We just bought a house, and it is up on a hill. It's the highest point around, and has four lightning rods on the roof. The white flashes we've had, scares the stuffings out of the family. Middle of the night, it still makes the rooms white. I pull the drapes, and unplug everything. Never thought of going into the middle room of the house. Thanks for the info.
