    Frannie,

Surprisingly, it was my work in the computer industry that taught me I can do anything I put my mind and hand to. And sewing and patternmaking as a teen helped me in my computer career! Afterall, my mom (and I have thanked her for it) forced me to rip out one inset sleeve that I had sewn over and over and over and... and it was awefull... and made me rip it out until I did it right.

Patience and tenacity. Although as I get old, I'm not as tenacious as I once was....

I'm useless at sewing - made an outfit for a cat once, and it fell apart first night he wore it out.

Are you sure the cat didn't help it fall apart?

To be fair Brenda, it was my first attempt at not only making an outfit for a cat, but dressing him too. I'll do better next time.

    Can cook too!!

Richie - what's your Signature Dish?

I sewed a lot, in my other life. Everything from lined, tailored jackets and coats to undies! I used to make little panties to match my little girls dresses. I made several swim suits - they were so easy and fit well. Does anyone remember Stretch and Sew? I took a lot of classes from them and learned how to make my own designs by taking pieces from different patterns. It was a creative outlet for me.

Now days, I don't even hem my own things; I actually pay someone else to do it. Sometimes I feel like I'd like to sew, but have little time and no place to leave a machine out. Maybe someday; I used to get a lot of satisfaction from my projects.

Good gosh I needed this kick in the butt today!

I have been putting off a little sewing project for days now and came upstairs to my sewing room just now to get started and oops.....saw the computer was on and I hadn't checked out JWD yet today.....I am so procrastinating on doing this little project.

Oh the project, I need a bag to hold all my plastic bags from the grocery store......I've seen them, easy to make it's just a tube with elastic on each end and a loop to hang it up with, right? LOL Well I have an idea to embellish it with an old pot holder of a cow (I love cows) anyway I'm just complicating a simple task.

I've really got to go and get this done cuz I promised myself DVDs movies while ironing when I'm done and I so don't want hubby to come home to me watching a chick flick. LOL
