The whole drama was just idiotic. The thing that made me fustrated though was just how people were freakin crying about how great it was. WTF!! it was bad acting, bad dialouge bad everything, sheesh. Control is crazy. And who the heck is Jonathan?

I'm hoping your wife will see one day.

And another thing, the congregations here love my sister so much they would never talk down to her, but I can just imagine what kind of opposition this will cause to kids that are going to college. There are so many elitist dubs that will degrade even their own members if they see a speck of something bad in them. And obedience and school were way up there in this convention. Can just imagine.

dont think many jws will see thru it, my mum apparently doesnt, i told her i was going to enroll my 3 year old daughter for 1 and half hours a day at play group, and she was so shocked her words were 'how can u even consider that? did you not see the timothy drama jehovah doesnt approve of schooling that isnt necessary!'

when the dubs apply it to before and after school u gota start worring!!

Most dub's thought the drama was spot on!! After we got got home my wife asked if was still planning on finishing school!! I told her "hell ya, why not?" She couldn't answer. Just sad, and yes it truly is propaganda!!

Yes,I have to agree,it was pure propaganda. It wasn't that long ago they were saying higher education was now ok,now they've reverted back to their old way of thinking. No wonder the average jw is so confused.

Great post! Short, sweet, and to the point.

My SIL came back from the convention disgusted, because she wants her son to go to college. Her husband is just lapping all this crap up, though.

Cordelia, that is plain ridiculous but it shows that the message is getting through doesnt it?...it might be subtle but the mind control element is clearly there.

This subject never fails to get my back up....

I poked around a bit with Google, and learned that the title of the "drama" was "Pursue Goals That Honor God". Does anybody know where I can get a transcript? I'd love to have documentation that the Society is trying once again to portray education as a sin (or at least an obstacle).

ugh, the college thing will always be a sorespot for me. i remember sitting at a convention when i was about 19 and a brother was giving an anticollege talk and i knew that his kids were in college.

and do they allow college educated people in bethel? uh, yeah.

    hypocrites, hypocrites, total hypocrites.

Here downunder, the dramas are usually received with smirks and grimaces by the 'audience' because of the American accents which sound so out of place .

And then just when you're getting used to it, the drama ends and the Australian speaker starts up again.

Just once I'd like to see them do the whole drama with Scottish accents or something, just to show the American audiences what it's like for everyone else.

And the propoganda can soon be repeatedly played ad naseum in good conditioning fashion since it'll be available as a DVD for the publishers sometime late this year or early next.
