  Does that mean you want to learn to show common decency to fellow posters? If so, why your rude (perhaps a better word than vitriolic) comments to Tina?

  ("Rude" is waaay more accurate than "vitriolic", which was plain wrong... thanks for the apology.) I wouldn't expect you to say so (as you didn't mention kent's misspoken words to Bigboi, only Bigboi's), but Tina is rude and inconsiderate OF ME, always has been, but I don't take it personally... she's that way with a lot of people. It's her style.

  Actually, I'm nice to tina, considering. You admit that "Tina may have provoked you, but if you return in kind you can't expect to remain innocent." The proactive statement is not called into account, but the reactive statement *IS*? Come on, Was!! We can do better than that. Someone is unfairly disfellowshipped and then calls down evil on the elders who did it. You point out the df'd persons response, not the act that provoked it? Please.

  Besides, tina, 1. gives as good as she gets, and b. likes (craves?) the attention I give her... hide and watch. No harm, no foul. She likes the little spankings I give her.

  I also noticed in your response what seems to be a condradiction about the "Emmy Debacle" You congratulated AlanF and JanH for staying out of it in one breath, and then said:

  I see your point, but I notice they've stayed out of this one, too. I started this thread to defend myself against what I consider unfair charges made by Ginny, md, and Francoise while at the same time keeping my word to leave what seemed (to my friend) to be that particular thread's direction. You sought to 'defend' Ginny when I made no attack against 'her' and such an act on your part was unwarranted, imo.

  On the other hand, you remained aware of but silent when Emyrose was under far worse fire and now defend your acquiescence THEN. Some fights you join, others you avoid. Excuse MY confusion in you when you then said, "I don't get involved in street fights..." AlanF and JanH seem to consistently live by that directive.

  I'm going to put the beach chairs in the car now and see if I can find a corkscrew...

  Oh, my! Sounds like the makings of a lovely afternoon, I must say! Oh, how I do love the beach. One day I hope to live on one, somewhere in Mexico... I could do it now, but too many obligations. Did you see Shawshank Redemption? Remember the last scene? Beautiful, in many ways.

  p.s. Speaking of movies, you have done me a great favor in mentioning Memento. From what I could tell from my research of it on http://us.imdb.com/, it's a movie that I believe played once on HBO and I only saw the first 5 or 6 minutes. Tell me, if you will... is this the movie where a man wakes up in a 'hospital' room and finds Posted Notes all over the place, with messages like "don't bother to light a cigarette... there's already one burning in the bathroom"? I wanted to see that movie, but haven't didn't know the name. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

  I have returned to my roots, and am dreading the winters Actually, I am waiting for the elders to realize I am here, and see if they will pay me a visit. I am looking forward to it, and will keep you all posted.

  I myself am going back to school this fall, at the age of 27. I am a hard working woman and respect anyone else who is. And Teejay I think it is wonderful that you went back to school, I have encouraged many to go back. If you decided to read my post as derogatory, well that is how you read it. I have seen alot of very intelligent people who have been given a little knowledge and think they are brilliant.

  Classic example in my field of medicine, we have EMT's they are emergency medical technicians. I believe their course is 6 weeks, or a little more, they are crammed with alot of info in this time for critical care emergency medicine. They are not given alot of info of pathophysiology of the disease process. In laymens terms, they can fix it but don't really know how it got broke.

  But, I have seen many EMT who may go on to be doctors because they are intelligent enough, spouting drivel. Not because they are dumb, just because they allowed their minds to "run away" with the little knowledge they have obtained. So even though you percieved me to be degrading you, I am actually just placing you in a category. You are close, but no cigar. I feel you are intelligent, and will obtain whatever degree you strive for. Just try to remember tomorrow you will learn the theory you learned today will be discredited or replaced by another. I am sure this is not new to you, and you have seen it already.

  I have walked away from you before, and will do again, this is just utter nonsense. If you feel compelled to continue to slam certain posters, have fun...I suggest you catch up on your studies, perhaps read ahead? I personally am done.(again, and finally)

  May you ALL have peace... and may I say:

  Can you ALL not see that you are ALL saying the EXACT same thing... about everyone but yourself? Why are you DOING this? How many 'cubits' will it add to your lifespan? To your 'intelligence'? To your perception... to your knowledge? Will you not still think that YOU are 'right'... whoever you are... and the others are 'wrong', whoever THEY are?

  There IS no 'solution'... for none of you seek 'resolution'... but seek instead your own form of 'glory'... being 'right'.

  We are ALL wrong, from time to time, and WRONG others... from time to time. ALL of us, including myself. If, therefore, you ARE 'wrong', from time to time, and 'wrong' others... from time to time...

  why not let yourself... BE 'wronged'... THIS time?

  I like your attitude. I forgot to mention it, but I was very impressed with your analysis of how to "make it" in life and your comments on affirmative action, all of this on another thread. I never did tell why I knew stuff about this HRM. I worked in HR in a corporaion for 8 years, then I taught HRM at the college level for 15 years. Still, I had to look up a couple of things in a text book to answer you. Anyway, I am one person who respects you even though our religious beliefs are not the same. Keep up your fine work.

  What do you expect from somebody who says she grew up around mostly black ppl, yet thinks it ok to call one a nigger, and also implies that all the black guys at the school she went did nothing but rape the white girls that attended. Of course she explained the true situation after being called on her deceptive implications, but why make such implications anyway?

  Whatever the reason, we all have our reasons for posting. Posting to Internet forums is one of the things people do. Sometimes we find like minds, sometimes not, sometimes we fing agreement and common ground, sometimes not, but we keep posting because we get 'something' out of it. We don't each get the same thing, but whatever it is, it's enough to move us to return. No harm, no foul. For the most part.

  One thing that works for me is that I avoid discussions that I view as silly, pointless, counterproductive, etc. There are several going on right now on this very site, yet I'm HERE, on this particular page, and here is where I'll stay. Others are talking about topics that are of interest to them, I do the same.

  For it is the one that LET'S him or her self be 'wronged'... that, in truth... is 'right'.

  I used to believe that. I now believe it to be a fallacy.

  I'll be 44 this year, so I've seen a thing or two, most of it Down South. Furthermore, I've been online since 1992. In all my experiences, you are one of the very few I have ever met in real life and THE ONLY ONE online (Prodigy Classic, H2O or JW.com) who actually repulses me, and I've met some true characters. To make it worse, every time you open your mind and allow the world to peer into it, my opinion of you drops even further. It's your kind of proud ignorance and fake "innocence" that in the past got too many good men, men with skin like mine, killed. It's a good thing that enough people have become enlightened, or else I'd be dead already.

  Yep, I saw what she said and I had to laugh at her attempt to weasel out of her statement. No, I don't think she's stupid(she knows damn well what she said and what she meant by saying it) she's ignorant like all ppl who say things like she does and believes the way she does. Her explanation of her post is downright silly. Intelligent ppl are dangerous if they are given knowledge? Come on! She's not that stupid or even that ignorant to believe such an asinine statement.
