Please, huge warning, if you're an angry ex-JW, save your bs advice, I dont' need to hear you put JW's down just to give advice.I was raised a JW & am still bitter over injustice growing up at the hands of my elder father, and bitter over the abuse of my ex-husband.
I miss my fam, I miss peace, I miss a sense of belonging.
Any advice on how to gain inner peace w/o selling myself out?
Ginger
Ok now that really made me want to reply. Nice one, ask for help and backslap in the same message. I see a lot of anger in this post - mostly at the jws. Strange that you dont want anyone to put the jws down when you just did. Interesting.
Best thing for you, read the posts here. We have some wise caring people here. How you feel better soon.

do lions actually have "silent, inner wisdom
I have yet to come across an expression of nature that does not.
Carrying no religious beliefs which reduce or limit the divine down to only a tiny part of the whole, we can be open to It's presence everywhere. It can be especially obvious within the eyes, yet felt most deeply in a mountain, a stone, or a tree.
Why place on high engraved images within the mind? In the act of exalting our gods we lower and subtract Divinity everywhere else in the universe; and in so doing we blind ourselves to what surrounds us and shines out of our own eyes.

Hello and welcome,
I agree that volunteering is a great idea. Also, have you read my favourite book "In Search of Christian Freedom"? It helped me a lot.
I run like hell!
Inner peace can NEVER be found in an organization that "screams peace, peace, when there is no peace." These jokers are at each other's throat. Inner peace comes from within and not from any person or group. I agree with JT; quiet the mind from thoughts.
bebu said "They live more in the moment because they have no choice in the matter, not because they 'wisely' choose it."
I would ask, how many of us live in the moment? We do have a choice, yet most squander the present moment by dwelling in the past or thinking about the future and thereby miss what actually is here right now. This present moment is all there is, all there ever was, and all that ever will be. This present moment is beyond time, is eternity itself, yet we foolishly look for answers somewhere else, and that is why spiritual agnst and other 'problems' arise.
JamesThomas - great to see you here once again.

It's mildly comforting knowing that others return b/c of family. I miss the sense of belonging...in addition to peace of mind...
Thanks!
I'd love to chat more...knowing your'e still active gives me more comfort than the anti-JW's out there. I don't need negativity, just insight.
You can email me at [email protected] if you want. I don't come on here often.
Thanks!
Ginger
Thank you for your sweet words....
