Prop you miss it, just admit it.

I was pretty young in the '70s, but my mom would not let me listen to disco because she said it came from voodoo fertility rituals and homosexuals.

Rebel, I have told to my daughter, and been told by my parents, lies. But this one is new and fresh to me. Do you mind if I use it?

I was watching at 2:00am this morning something about Barbara Striesand and Barry Gibbs new album came out yesterday. It showed then and now, singing together. And some of Saturday Night Fever clips. I was thinking I really liked it back then!!! I might have to go buy the CD.

Even though I don't believe in all of Babs politics. HL

Funny thing is that my mom started taking me to meetings regularly in 1977 and was baptized into the "trooth" in 1978, right when the disco craze was happening. My own memories of disco albums and music are wrapped up with meeting JWs for the first time, and the many parties and gatherings they had, as well as seeing stuff on the telly and being told over and over at meetings how wicked those "discotheques" are. So to some extent, when I think of disco, I think of JWs....lol!

I like some of the music by the way. (Tho I like '70s punk rock more)

Yeah what are you talking about? I was born too late for the 70's era, but I love disco! I have been to parties before where Disco was all that was played and danced to. Those were some of the funnest parties I have ever been to!

I love Redd Foxx, but he was so clean on that show. I've heard a little bit of his comedy routines and boy was he nasty...funny but nasty. Hm i'm thinking about trying to find some of his old comedy albums but I wouldnt be able to play them with the kids around. lol

I didn't get into Disco until 1982. I got married at the old age of 18 in 1975, and had gone thru my own harmageddon. 1982 I was free, white, and 25, and I raised hell to heavenly standards!

I had learned to "move" when I was in gradeschool from 68-71...90% black and we had the professional dance teachers from Jefferson High coming in for special "gym class" (Jefferson Dancers are highly well known in the US... similar to FAME NY HS for the Arts). I had already learned how to do a little jitterbug when I was a kid, and could charleston, but hey, they were fun on the dancefloor in the 80's! Micheal Jackson was still black and his music was at it's prime. Donna Summer was Queen. And there's nothin like a slow dance to Berrry White. Blondie! Devo! It was all good. And if you hadn't had enough at by last call, there were after hours places to go and dance dance dance.

I'm a guy with not a gay bone in my body ( I am in touch with my X & Y factors, however) but even I have to admit to that. Shall I send you my copy of FACE OFF / W JT & Nicholas Cage ?
