Disco was condemned in the 70's.
Today disco is played at most JW receptions and draws a huge crowd onto the floor.
YMCA by the village people is quite popular at these events.
I remember reading an old Consolation (forerunner to Awake) saying jazz and blues were from the devil.
When I faded from the truth (adventist not JW) I lived for soul music and disco for several years. Still love the music now. Me and my wife boogied last year to Gwen Dickie (formerly of Rose Royce) in Blackpool last year.
