The situation for most of us in here is that if we COULD just walk away from the WTS...we would. If I COULD get away from all the JWs I would in a heartbeat. If I NEVER had to be shunned, and be REMINDED OF MY "PLACE" by the JWs I WOULD. But they wont ALLOW me to! And make NO mistake about it...they REVEL in the constant reminders to both me and my mother in law, that we are BENEATH them and not worthy of association, nor unnecessary communication nor even CIVILITY. So yeah....Id love to walk away and start a new life and FUCKING FORGET ABOUT ALL OF THEM.

But Im MARRIED to one for 22 years ...and he is my kids' FATHER and his FAMILY are in and my mother in law who is being shunned by her own KIDS is MARRIED to a self righteous prick of an JW elder who reminds HER on a daily basis with a SMIRK on his fucking face, that SHE and HER beliefs dont matter and HE will rule the house and HIS WILL SHALL BE DONE and she will be destroyed by his god at Armageddon because she dared to turn her back on Jehoovers Borganization.

So yeah...Id like to just walk. Wouldnt we all love to walk away and flip the bird to ALL of them.

Yeah...just be a man and take it in the a$$ and quit complaining...you had it coming to you you "apostate" you.

were you at Russels grave?

Ive been there. I was attending a Witnesses Now For Jesus convention in PA at the time. His grave is under a headstone that has his picture on both sides of it...creepy pictures. A few yards away is a huge pyramid. About 6 feet tall...maybe a bit bigger. It has the cross and crown emblem and many markings that are definitely NOT what JWs believe in...even the pyramid itself is pagan. The pyramid is only a few yards away from the Masonic Headquarters building. I have read both ways that he was or he wasnt or he stole some ideas from them or whatever. In the long run...it doesnt really matter. My grandfather was a Freemason and my grandmother a member of the Eastern Star...the womens version of the Masons. There are pictures online of it. I dont know if my old post and pictures are available but I will look.

Some of the postings here are like those would say of a raped girl.... "Well you dressed provocatively so you GOT what you DESERVED! You went WITH him to his room didnt you? Nobody put a gun to your head to go in the first place. And you KNEW the consequences of your actions so dont be whining that you were RAPED."

She Would Have Been Better Off A JW

well i have been wanting to tell this story for some time now.

does anyone believe that a person is better becoming a jw?

i ask this question because i have carried this around with me for some years now.

Its not your fault. At all...not now not ever. And my estranged husband is a now recovering alcoholic but has been a JW since 1986 and was raised in it...that never prevented him nor MANY other JWs I know...from getting wasted every chance they got.

Some people are an accident waiting to happen and I doubt becoming a JW would have prevented this tragedy. Again...not your fault.

MY B-I-L IS IN THE HOSPITAL

here's another update on my brother in law:.

my sister and b-i-l went to the cancer center in toronto earlier this week to see about getting the stemcell transplant for his disease.

it was actually an encouraging visit as the oncologist there said that they did not feel his condition had progressed into the acute myloid leukemia yet and that he had longer---up to 2 years---than what his local oncologist had said.

Im so sorry honey....I know I railed against God when my only 42 year old sister in law got pancreatic cancer and left four young children behind and she was the most devout Christian, God fearing loving lady ever. I have to assume we are on our own down here. Otherwise why wouldnt we have found a cure for cancer? or been GIVEN one?

I sure hope things improve for him. Very scary.

I might add too, when I started hanging out with the JWs as a newly single woman coming out of an abusive relationship with no friends...the sudden social life I had with the JWs was very intoxicating. So many months down the line when someone said to me from that group of friends "You know Wuz, if you dont get baptized, we can no longer hang around with you because you will be considered bad association." I was dumb struck and panicked at that thought! I immediately studied harder, got out in service and got baptized...in fact on June 1, 1985, the first time they used the NEW baptizmal questions...and I didnt even HEAR those questions and I dont think anybody DOES hear them. We are all so excited to be getting baptized we would have said "YES!!" if they had asked if we wouldnt mind coming up on the stage after being dunked and doing a pole dance. "YES!!!"

During my study of the You Can Live Forever book...disfellowshipping wasnt talked about. Independent thinking was not discussed. Being NOT like a Berean was not discussed. Giving up ALL the holidays, birthdays and not joining the evil YMCA were NOT discussed. I think there was a mention in like the LAST chapter of the book about that but by then you are...once again....so hell bent to get baptized you cease to understand the ramifications.

So INFORMED DECISION? no. not at all. And are KIDS making an INFORMED DECISION being baptized at 9? 11? 15??? Hell no they arent. And yet they are treated like evil, satanic, scum of the earth if they grow up...get informed....and leave....by their OWN FAMILIES.

Yeah...sure...we "all knew the consequences of our actions" and should be held in disdain for the rest of our lives for it.
