we live in a world where people do not want to get involved.
if they see a domestic abuse, they walk the other way.
if they see signs of neglect or abuse, many just go on with their business.. would you get involved with a situation, even if you might get caught in a crossfire yourself?.
Domestic abuse makes me craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy. Having been the victim of it from two different people now. I have no tolerance for it. And even if I dont have the opportunity to get in the face of the abuser Im all over trying to help the victim and making sure she knows her rights and her options and how to get restraining orders and where womens shelters are etc.
But some people lay right back down in front of the bus and you cant help them.
about three or four years ago my former "best friend" who is an active jw started coming by my work to eat lunch with me and chat.. in the course of our conversations we had religious discussions.. i posted on the former jwd about these discussions.
i never mentioned his last name, but, i did use his first name.. i honestly never expected anybody to read those posts because of the curse on apostate websites.
but, that was a bit naive, i suppose.. here is what has happened.. .

Of course he denied what you said! Even if it was true. If admitting it or even hinting that it was true would get him DFd of course he would deny it and in turn...kick your ass out of his life. It sucks.
Im thinking even if he leaves the borg, he will continue to resent you.
on another thread, i just said that i refuse to pander to the cult sensibilities of visiting jws by wording my posts in a way that will not offend them.. i am convinced that any dyed in the wool jw, will be offended by any of the "apostate" content of this board, no matter how witness friendly the words and phrases actually used.. even now, i can see a jw being offended by the word "cult".. they are also no doubt offended by the suggestion that they have "sensibilities" rather than true beliefs that should be respected.. they are offended that i disagree with them and see the need to start a thread like this.. if it scares away a reniaa, it will save us endless wasted hours dealing with hijacked and derailed threads.. and, actually if a jw is offended by my way of dealing with the damage, it is a pity they can't respect my own feelings.. i am not in the business of saving people from themselves.
those who leave the wt organisation do so because they are ready to and are sick of it.

If there is one thing I am CERTAIN of its that the JWs do NOT pussy foot around US while on this WWW! Im sure all of you have SEEN maybe POSTED TO or been DELETED FROM the JW only web sites. Now I ask you....why in the world do you want to cow tow to such a hateful disingenuous self serving bunch of people? Sure there are "nice" JWs...but they dont post much from what I have seen. I see ZERO reason to sugar coat what I have to say here or anywhere else on this box. My feelings are MY feelings and most of them were caused by the Watchtower's Societys interbred minions making my life miserable...STILL making my life miserable.
If someone "stumbles" into this site, which I dont buy for a nanosecond, asking if it is a "safe site for JWs" then they havent read a single post in here and will soon go in search of, and nest in, one of the thousands of bile filled worldly/apostate hating JW sites where they can and do spew their venom about US.

when i first left jehovah's witnesses (jw's), i was somewhat amused at the sheer amount of anti jw websites out there.
while websites like freeminds.org and jwfacts.com are great, (non hysterical sites that stress fact and presentation over emotional responses), there are at least 5 times as many other sites that act as if you should treat a jw at your door like you would a spreader of the ebola virus.. i don't disagree with the fact that jw's are somewhat dangerous and usually go for the low hanging fruit.
Thanks Jeff. I have to agree with that assessment. Most of what JWs read in the publications and regurgitate at the meetings goes in one blind eye and out the other deaf ear with them. Its all just the Societys regurgitation of their OWN old worn out topics with a new twist, or rearranging the paragraphs from an article from 15 years ago that nobody remembers anyway. Its all just white washing and propaganda.
I admit to being one of those hysterical posters sometimes. Because I reply to nonsense accusations and generalizations and outright LIES they propagate even about their own history! Pisses me off. And all THEY are doing is reflecting the crap THEY have been shown repeatedly ad nauseum. Born ins...shit that is all they know.
As for adults who come in...I dont think they are harder to get out of it. In fact I believe they are easier because they have the experience of being on the other side of the fence...knew the freedom...and once they get into the Borg and the walls start closing in, they get it. They might not be ABLE to leave easily because they married a JW or have JW kids now...but they WANT to.
I say work the "youth"...get the YOUTH out and you undermine their expansion and growth totally. As long as there are computers and the internet and cellphones and skype and blogging and text messaging...we can get to them. Before you couldnt because mommy and daddy witless were controlling their every move. Now the barn door is not only open it is OFF and there isnt a damn thing the parents can do to prevent information from getting to these kids short of handcuffing them to their beds or the Kingdom Hall chairs 24-7. Most of their new baptized ones are kids of JWs. Without the income from those coming up...the whole cult will die off.

the talk outlines for the summers conventions are only being printed over the next 2 weeks or so.. the finished outlines were ready in the middle of december 2009, however sources that i trust tell me that at least 5 of the talks were returned for last minute rewriting which is highly unusual.
this has held up the printing until now, a delay of over a month.
this is a fact!!.

Its a yes or no question that they flat out asked ME. My answer was " Do I consider myself a witness for Jehovah? Yes." They didnt know what to do with that. But in the end I DAd myself because the elders and all my "friends" turned on me like wolves with the sneering and teeth baring and growling included. So I said fuckem. an old friend who knew i had always been "searching for truth" told me to read chapter 111 if nothing else , i did , and i dont know if im more scared than when i was in the cult or feel better for reading it (the latter, i think ) he said i should read the davinci code ,angels and demons , then the lost symbol but i feel guilty for reading stuff like that (you can take the girl out the truth but not the truth out the girl ) has anyone else read these books or knows about chapter 111 when it talks of revalation in the bible ?.
I loved the first two books. LOVED them. The Lost Symbol...not so much. Nothing scary about any of them..VERY entertaining. If you read only the third book and not all three it may not have any impact at all because they are all kinda connected by the mysteries surrounding the Freemasons and symbology and lost treasure and whether or not Christ was single.

i just wanted to let you know of something that has liberated me recently.
i decorated my office with hearts for valentine's day this year.
my family has known for over ten years that i do not want to practice the jw faith, although i am not df'd or da'd.
Awwwww! Isnt it cool??? I left the Borg in Jan 1997. My daughter was in 1st Grade and in February she got to celebrate her first valentines day and I mean to tell you...we had a BALL together!! She dressed all in red and pink and hearts and we decorated a cereal box for her class valentines to be put into and I went with her to class and we brought cuppycakes with candy hearts on them and the kids played games and read stories and the whole room was decorated with hearts with the kids pictures on them. Ohmygod it was like LIFE came to the door and God smiled on us and said YES!! NOW YOU ARE LIVING THE LIFE I GAVE YOU!!
