i have been outed pretty badly as an evil apostate.......BEWARE!!!
by oompa inand in a kinda funny way........this friend of mine.......who is very close friend of my df'd son and is much younger than me.....he has been dfd for ten years and shunned by his family and really reall misses them......and has been in a longterm gay relationship and i always felt bad for him because there is almost no way to come back in...then fade...if you are in a gay relationship.......so anyway he has heard me trashtalk wt a ton...and seemed to have zero problem with that and griped about his wt issues...... so i call him the other day and immediately respond with some comment about the damm cult.......we he says," wow oompa you prob don't know but i am going to all the meetings again!!
so i am just snap....."wow, that is amazing...i had no idea....are you just going back for family...and then try to fade?
" which is what i just knew had to be the case....and i even mentioned how that would be hard to do with his partner all it would be discovered.......get this....."oompa, i am doing this for me and not my family......they don't even know i am going so don't say anything"........so i am in shock and the more we talk the happier he sounds about da troof....and i mean he is like filled with the holy ghost......so i mentioned how many things we have talked about that they teach that we both dissagree about.......and he says he know they prob have some things wrong but all religions do.

Jehovhah's Witnesses Once Again America's Fastest Growing Church
by David2002 inaccording to the 2009 edition of the yeabook of american and canadian churches, jehovah's christian witnesses are once again the fastest group in the united states.
meanwhile the roman cathollic church and the southern baptist convention lost thousands of members.
while the growht rate of the witnesses was 2.12%, based mainly on those that actively preach the good news, it was the highest growth percentage when compared to other groups.

No matter what their "growth" rate is, if they indeed are the CHOSEN ONES and the TRUTH and God is using THEM to get to the rest of the planet, their growth rate is pathetic and God really needs to rethink using only THEM to spread his word out there LOL! Not very effective means there Jehoover. Perhaps You need to rewrite their Bible? Or give them The Force so they can change peoples minds with a wave of their hand over the householder LOL
A religion with 6 million people for a 2% increase needs to get 120,000 new members a year.
A religion with 1 billion people for a 2% increase needs to get 20,000,000 new members a year... and who exactly is COUNTING those other religions? THEY arent.

There probably isnt a better aphrodisiac on the planet than selling god door to door. LOL
Nope...never had sex during FS. There was however one octogenarian brother of the annointed who, when he would get hot from going door to door, would go behind the bushes in anybodys yard and take off his clothes down to slacks only, toss it all into the car and declare "Time to go! Lets go have lunch!"

SIT DOWN!.....i am going to the meeting next week for sex....
by oompa inactually...i am just hoping that mo/betta sex is just a huge fringe benefit (really hoping that!!!!!!!
) ......i may start going one or two times a month........and it was an idea handed to me by my friend bonnzo here.
he is a great guy all around....who loves his old pioneer mom enough to keep going to the meetings a bit instead of doing what we would both like to and walk away......actually we both would probably prefer that all our family and friends walked away and then it would not even be like walking away.

Well his going is not just for sex...that is apparent. Its to avoid being totally removed from his entire family and all his friends so whatever reward is garnered may be worth the couple hours a week of sacrifice. So Oomps take your pad and pen and write your book while you are there maybe...pretend to be taking copious notes and hanging on every word they say. Learn short hand so nobody knows what you are writing. :)
We arent worried, at least Im not, Oomp...about you falling back into the maw and being eaten alive spiritually by a Godless cult blah blah blah...its strictly a social, human interaction move on your part. You wouldnt ever go back any more than we would...save Renaia perhaps :)
I say do what you need to do honey.

Update on my situation
by JimmyPage inthe wife hasn't been mentioning our differences of opinion.
we're talking about other things, just not the elephant in the room.
as far as religion goes, all's quiet on the western front.

I agree with Lou on this...it needs to be addressed or you will both be walking on eggs for a VERY long time and women dont ever forget anything. Just because she hasnt said anything doesnt mean it went away. obviously she has been stewing on this and it has been bothering her for a very long time.
And in all fairness to your love for her, you need to encourage her to go do what she needs to do to get peace and clear her conscience. But she needs to know that that is not the decision YOU made with regards to your own "confession" and laying yourself bare to God was sufficient to you and re-playing it all to the elders would mean following their pharasaic sheep controlling rules which you arent about to do. But if she decides NOT to go to the elders, she has to know that the subject CANNOT be brought up again in your marriage and has to be a closed issue. Done deal. Fait accompli.
I have...well HAD...a very close friend as a JW. She was a rabid JW and a pioneer. However she married a "safe" JW man who was always more interested in fishing and being by himself than he was in her or their kids and she was basically alone in the marriage. And she confided in an elder, they fell in love, started having sex and got busted. Well neither of them was DFd. They were split up into different congregations and told never to have contact again. But they snuck around anyway because they were in love (she told me AND he told me...this) He ended up getting a divorce. And she stayed in her marriage. But many years later there were still things about that whole affair she hadnt told the elders and she couldnt live with it. Even though she was not DFd for the sex, when she went and confessed the remaining things...probably the post JC activity, they DID DF her for like...a year. But at least she can move on now. And that was the important thing to her, to have a clear conscience before her God.

Wondering.....
by lavendar inour son became involved with the jws about 4 years ago, due to his jw wife (they married before she was baptized).
i don't believe our son is baptized yet.
i was wondering....if a person is not baptized yet, do the elders still put pressure on the person to do more, ie field service, talks, etc.

As long as he is married to a JW SHE will continue to bug him which may include her getting the elders involved to bug him to "do more". They are short males to do all the menial jobs they have to run the place. It will be difficult for him to not acquiesce to their pressure. And if he does so just to assuage their desires to put him to work, he will be resentful to them and his wife. I did know a man though, who went to ALL the meetings with his JW wife and both of his kids grew up and were baptized, but he himself never got baptized, never went door to door, never was called upon to do anything because eventually they stopped bugging him about it. Unlike other churches, when you go to the Kingdom Hall it isnt VOLUNTARY after awhile. They will label him, as they label themselves and us...as spiritually weak or a spiritual black hole and yes...as above...she will be invited to gatherings and he will not.
This will be a difficult marriage. Very.
