JW Defenders- Is WTS Right to Insist You Stay Away From these Websites?

i read these threads and there are a few that bend over backwards to say why wts is correct on this issue or that issue.. they act like typical jw's that refuse to acknowledge points that may show that wts is not following the scriptures or that wts goes beyond the scriptures in a way that is not supported by others.. the point could be the blood issue or shunning or whether 1799 or 1914 was the start (or finish?

) of the last days or whether there is a faithful and discreet slave class or not.

i don't want to harp on each point.

I havent finished reading all the terrific posts on this thread yet...but I continually am thinking,

If the Watchtower Society tells people that the internet is BAD and EVIL why do THEY even have a web site? SEVERAL web sites... on it? Its like putting food in the middle of a mine field and telling starving people that its ok for them to go get the FREE FOOD you so "lovingly provided" for them...but to do so would mean traversing the mine field to get it, which they say those people arent ALLOWED to do.

At the same time they tell us we cant believe what is on the internet because APOSTATES can infiltrate and alter or immitate "The Truth"...but yet they are claiming that THEIR website is somehow immune to dissemination of UNTRUTHS, HALF TRUTHS and ERROR BY OMISSION and oh yeah...LIES ?

Hypocrites much???

I Have A New Grandson But He's Very Sick :(

he was born yesterday with many complications including breathing problems, possible lung underdevelpment, anemia and body temperature issues.

the poor little guy was hooked up to a breathing tube and tons of monitors.

because the hospitals couldn't handle some of the problems, they sent him and my daughter to the best hospital in boston last night.

I think this article encourages vigilanti-ism. And marking and "insider shunning" at the congregation level. I might have a problem with Sister Usedtobeapioneer and decide since she chose to go back to work and stop pioneering she is no longer spiritually strong and "left Jehovah" while another JW may see her as wonderful because she is spending more time in study with her family, or is now able to give money to hall because she is working...

I mean my point being where is the line in the sand???

when i first faded from jws, i didn't know for sure whether it was the truth or not.

being raised in it, it is not so easy to abandon the years of indoctrination.

then, one day i decided: sh*t or get off the pot.

You cant really "what if" the whole thing you know? If it were the TRUTH...you wouldnt have any doubts at all about ANY of it logically. There would be nothing that could refute ANY of it.

The situation is you cant be kinda pregnant...you cant be kinda blue eyed...either you is or you isnt.

Its not the truth. And if you have a spiritual need, continue to persue it and continue to study and ask and learn. That is your choice.

A "possible suicide" results in no JW support

a co-worker of mine whose, wife and daughters are jehovahs witnesses, told me about situation that his oldest daughter finds abhorrent.

he said that a close friend of his daughter was found dead in a car the other day.

she was in her early 30's and had been a lifelong jw.

These people have no hearts nor minds. If they have to go to the LITERATURE to see "how to act" in this situation...then they are no longer human beings.

Im so sorry for your loss. :*(

Not been on for AGES but need to rant

i've not used any boards for a long time because i felt i'd got what i needed from them and felt i needed to 'move on' for want of a better word.

i've just come back from staying at my j.w parents house for a few days (which was long enough) we don't usually bring the subject of 'it' up but the other night i got it all, the bile was out, they were on defensive mode, to the point of shouting, insulting me, telling me that they'll 'cut me off' if they find out i'm apostate, then laughing at me and causing me to actualy feel worthless it was unreal.

i told them i'm an atheist and tried to tell them what the 'truth' does and what it really is but i got absolutely nowhere.

I never ceases to amaze me the GALL and the SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS and the TACTLESSNESS and the total lack of LOVE JWs display. They become Jekyll and Hyde. They berate, insult, belittle, mock...what the hell IS that??? Is that behavior supposed to make us RUN back into their midst if only to make the CHIDING STOP??

Oh HELL no.

Im sorry you had to deal with that with your own parents. They probably thought because you were staying there you were cornered and would have to listen to their 'bile' and bile it is!

I have visions of 1) the EXORCIST... and in her case even the split pea soup AND head spinning 360 didnt stop the priest...and 2) seeing a grown man "cry" on a stage on TV at some point going " I have SIIIIIIIIIIINNED MY LORD!!!" and wanting forgiveness and repentance and oh yeah MONEY and...

What is all that self righteousness boil down to but ego? The JWs have a HUGE frickin ego and haughtiness about them that Gaaawwwd Himself gave them ALLLLL the insight and the POWAH and the GLOOOORY in the world to preacha to the masses-ah and to save-ah all the people-ah......
