  Your Experience with Resigning as an Elder

  i'm considering resigning as an elder.

  i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.

  and i'm completely exhausted.

  it is very difficult to knock a ball into a hole (like golf), throw it into a receiver's hands (american football) intercept it and knock it over the fence (american cricket).

  or to put a sattelite at the right time at the right speed in the right direction in the right place to have it orbit another body, so :.

  what ingenious natural & process is it, than can get 9+ zillions bodies to get into the right orbit simultaniously or sequentially and have them remain there for billions of years?

  Funny story though.

  Circuit overseer gives talk at assembly about finding good things to say about our bro's (as opposed to mean).

  To illustrate he relates the example of this lovely sis he knew who had something nice to say about everyyone.

  The sister even had a nice thing to say about satan.

  Quote on quote; "at least he (satan) is a hard worker".

  Followed by applause and laughter.

  just to share a little about me:.

  i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .

  makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

  Fake elders are fine aslong as they use their powers for good not evil.

  Lotsa luck with that one.

  JCs are horrendous as they are but the thought that some poor schmucks JC

  will be presided over by an elder that does'nt even believe anymore.

  The person whose on trial might have more "faith" than you do. Thats whacked.

  This is peoples lives your dealing with. My advice would be to proceed with caution.

  buddhist / hindu / rastafarian / pagan etc... if they came to you and said in my homeland we have our own gods who is completely different from yours and most of his teachings are contradictory or atleast different from yours.

  do you thyink that my gods from my homeland that were worshipped for thousands of years are fake?.

  JWs always bang on about there only being one "true"god.

  But is it possible all these different godlike figures from different cultures are all just variations on a theme.

  Apples and oranges. Who am I to say "my god is bigger than your god".

  Although makes me wonder who would win in a wrestling match.

  The aura at the beginning of a siezure can feel like an intense feeling of absolute clarity. Just the brain spazzing out though.

  Can Ministerial Servant give a prayer for wine or bread at the Memorial?

  there was a guy in his early 20's that gave the prayer for the bread or wine at my memorial (i just do not remember which one, wine or bread?

  ) he does not look like elder material at all.

  if ms can't give the prayer at the memorial, then he must be an elder by now.

  Me too Viola,

  I thought, I don't want to spend eternity with these people. The only thing holding jws back from their true frightening potential at the moment is they have to abide by the laws of the land to some degree. What would, happen if there was no longer that little thing like "caesers law" getting in the way.
