they have made so many strategical mistakes it's hard to keep track.
some changes within the last decade or so that are contributing to declining numbers of jws:.
1. elimination of book study groups, the most informal, enjoyable and sociable of the jw meetings, contributed to loss of sense of community among jws.. 2. policy of consolidating kingdom halls.
Surely exposure to GB members in all their crazy weirdness via the broadcasts will backfire for some - especially in countries other than America, where most JWs in these countries have previously been spared the "privilege" of seeing and hearing their GB-Gods.

i think this would be a great question to ask active jws.
they love to say how the world would be so different if everyone was a jw.
however, what if we flip the question and ask, would the world really be much different if the jw faith never came into existence?

The thing is they cannot exclude a parent from anything JW or no JW.
The Organization is not a substitute for the police or Child Protective Servises and elders have NO authority.
If any non-JW parent out there is excuded from anything to do with their children and WT call the police!
and they start delivering their message of judgment?
what do you think will happen when they start knocking on doors and telling people that their families will be killed in armageddon because they did not believed in jehovah.

This letter is a shining example of Jehovah's Organization (according to Lett) doing more than anyone else to "protect our young ones" and Jehovah's Organization "abhorring child abuse" and this letter puts to rest those unfair accusations from lying apostates that JWs care more about their Talmudic rules and reputation than the welfare of it's members or the community.

anyways, as a sister who has been in the org since childhood and now in her late 40's (plus as a woman of color), i have noticed that a number of brothers have an ageist attitude.
they are very accepting of young women under 26 and rejecting women over that age, particularly those in their 30's and over.. is this an unspoken mindset from wthq (specifically from bethel), or is it that quite a number of males (sorry, i'm not sexist here) have this type of mentality?

this weeks book study lesson was on martha, the sister of lazarus.
the chapter in the "imitate their faith" book praised her for being "industrious".. the conductor at our congregation meeting was just positively gushing about how "industrious" modern-day jw women are.. he was so exciting, he could barely get the words out.

I assume the OP is talking about being respected as a valued member of the cong - not attraction.
