Now, my care factor for such an action would be nil.
Hard to believe I ever thought being DFed would be a fate worse than death. I have done a hell of a lot of personal deprogramming work over the last couple of years to get to this point.
before my mother's death, it would have impacted me.
now , i wouldn't care..

we're currently watching leah remini's series about scientology and the main thing she seems to focus on is the shunning policies of the scientology organization which let's face it are very similar to jw procedure.. i was wondering with all that's in the media recently about bullying could a petition be put together to get the goverment to consider making religiously mandated shunning illegal?
has such a thing been tried before?.
https://petition.parliament.uk/help says the following - .
I'm late to this discussion and it's probly all been said but no I don't think a petition would or could have any impact on lawmakers. It would be impossible to enforce non-shunning and it's unrealistic to expect lawmakers to make people do something they should be deciding for themselves regardless of the rules of the dubclub.
At the end of the day it's the responsiblity of every individual JW to stand up to WT and say no to shunning.
during yesterday's public talk, i noted the speaker did not make a full reference to the first outline point following the second reference to romans 12:21 - "but keep conquering the evil with the good".this first outline point as i call it, is as follows: "be willing to forgive others whenever there is a basis for doing so".
interesting conditionality i thought!
it references the aw of june 8th 1995 page 10 paras 6-7. in part it says there... "what though, if others sin against us in a more serious way, deeply injuring us?
Sounds pretty vague "whenever there is a basis for doing ..." and what would that "basis" look like ? A public show of kissing up to the elders and accepting their counsel in true WT style "repentance" no doubt.
Is not going to meetings "...a practise of malicious, willful, sin..." ?
how many times did you hear that gem?
it often went along with "the truth is a protection" which is their way of saying "living a moral life is good for you ... and you can't do that without us".. but think about what people are really saying.
i think the real message is "i know it's not the truth, but i chose to follow it anyway".. it seems like a pre-emptive argument because they know they can't defend it as "the truth" so instead they switch to defending it as a lifestyle.. of course any kind of lifestyle that has a decent moral ingredient to it, respect for law and order, discipline etc... probably increases people's chances of doing better in life, but they don't have a monopoly on it.. so just remember, next time you hear someone saying "even if it's not the truth" what they are really admitting is that they already know it isn't..
The thing with the JW religion is if it wasn't for the shunnning, the blood issue, the child abuse, the indoctrination, the loss of personal freedom of thought and feelings, the judginess, the gossip, the narcissistc control, the trail of broken dreams and families, the destruction of sense of self and identity, the use and abuse of other people's time, money, energy and youth, the GB, the literature, the guilt-tripping, the lame get togethers, the farcical form of worship ......
Then yeah this would sooo be the best way to live.
i've listened to quite a few but for some reason, this one has me really angry.. my heart goes out to the young family dealing with this bull shite.. give a listen.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifkpiqigq9c.
I hate listening to JC recordings but they do highlight the lunacy of this religion and the arrogance, hypocrisy, and plain stupidity of the elders trying to enforce WT rules. Their attempts to sound righteous and well versed they just sound ignorant and overbearing.
i used to dread seeing a witness coming toward me.
now i am quite comfortable and hope that they may say something to me..... does your blood pressure rise when you see a jw coming toward you?
?.
Look Tom this place is what it is take it or leave it, it's really that simple.
You were not forced or coerced into coming here and you will not be forced or coerced to stay.
Now you're here, you will not forced, coerced or emotionally blackmailed into commenting nor will you be to stop.
Stop playing the victim and take responsibilty for bringing yourself here and choosing to comment.

Yep, crazyguy, the elders now form an anti-integrity committee.
i know that this is old but going through and posting about every lawsuit that i can find in this decade with watchtower either good or bad if it has not already been posted.
this lawsuit was brought in the federal district court for the eastern district of louisana.
it involves a family whose mother had died at a district convention in 2011. the mother, patsy, was descending stairs at the convention which was held at the mitchell center in mobile, alabama when she fell and was fatally injured.
CCJW = Corrupt Conartists WatchTower
skimming though my iphone earlier today i came across a fb post - which i now can't find!.
basically it was a claim that a gb member had stated that associating with a disfellowshipped person was akin to sleeping next to a corpse.. so obviously i'm curious as to whether anyone else has come across this..
DFed but working their way back to being undead aka zombies.
and it's the first time i didn't know that it already occurred.
i must be really slipping!😈.
I had two witnesses come to the door to ask "if I wanted an invitation."
First off wtf? If I "want"an invitation???!!! They know me. I am a baptized witness from the congregation.
I asked why I needed an invitation at all since I am not DFed nor DAed don't I already have an open invitation to the KH?
He just mumbled yes of course and squirmed turned an interesting shade of vermillion. I thanked him for coming but assured him that I keep up to date from the website and I know I can go to the hall whenever I choose.
