Will #metoo have an affect on forcing changing attitudes at Watchtower?

despite decades of the feminist movement, watchtower's attitude of woman being inferior has changed little, with pauline sexism justified as inspired, on the basis that women are lesser emotionally, intellectually and physically.

jehovah's witnesses seem to accept this with little resistance.

is there anything about the #metoo movement that may wake followers up?

Some may think twice, but, many women in the org will argue that WT and the Bible encourages true respect for women and "subjection" is relative and "spiritual" only. That women are honoured and protected by the arrangement.

To be honest I worry about this "metoo" movement becoming a witch hunt where presumption of innocence is dispensed with in favor of salacious heresay. Also in the long run what will be the outcome? I know many will disagree with that concern and that's fine feel free but I have my reservations about where it's all heading.

so as we all know, the australian royal commission has it on record that a "child safegaurding policy" document was produced hurriedly at the tail end of the australian royal commission.. the commission was told by the society representatives that this would be "freely available to all congregants and interested people".. the commission quizzed the brothers as to whether it would "be freely handed out, or simply handed to those who requested it".

either way, it was to be freely available.. so imagine the surprise of one our fellow faders who attended a kh yesterday to ask for a copy!.

she politely and respectfully asked the brother at the door for a copy.

In JWspeak "freely available" = "we'll call the branch and get back to you...maybe...after the meeting... if we can be bothered...you're probably an apostate...you're not entitled...bugger off"

They have nowhere else to go!

i think the overwhelming problem with trying to wake up friends and family is they have nowhere else to go.

i mean these people all their friends are jws a lot of them their family is jws.

if they wake up or agree with you in anyway they know instantly that they loose all this, many will even loose jobs.

so according to the law department's meeting in feb 2016, russia has been studying the linguistics of the watchtower articles and discovered its brainwashing abilities!.

I found his mixing of metaphors idiotic to say the least.

Neither did it add up logically. If the Russian Government really did view JWborg and it's literature as small and insigificant as an ant I doubt they would have bothered with them. Also the thing about the planting of JW's own literature in their KH was laughable. Like saying the cops planted the stolen goods that I stole at my house - the bastards!

I don't know if it would be possible to conduct accurate research on such a closed group. Particularly when the people in that group live in religious lala land are intellectually and emotionally dishonest, lie to themselves and others, and who couldn't give a straight answer to save their lives.

Do you have JW-related dreams (nightmares)?

greetings, dreamers:.

i guess it's never going away: daytime carryovers of jw-related stuff seeping into my dreams.. the majority of these dreams take place at conventions but with really weird trappings.

last night i dreamed i arrived at the site with no books, no lunch, nothing but my car keys.

I rarely dream about JWs now, but, I used to all the time. The dreams themselves were not scary just everyday JW stuff and always with a sense of dread and forboding to them, sinister even.

I have noticed I'm more likely to remember my dreams when I'm trying to figure out the answer to some question or conundrum in my awake life.

All that JW stuff really does seep into your subconscious though and can take a while for it to be exorcised.
