BTW, cream of cauliflower soup is delicious with a teaspoon of horseradish cream added at the blending stage.

i dont have the willpower to attend meetings anymore.

i'm literally on the sound system list every week.

i'm either reading on sunday or tuesday, praying on tuesday nites, adjusting mics, passing mics, or working the sound system, or doing last minute parts for the service meeting.

Your education and your sanity are more important than passing microphones

at the meeting so put yourself first, you will thank yourself for it one day.

As for the fam, they will not die because your taking responsibility for your own self.

They may not like it at first but it won't kill them.

i don't know about you, but the various congs i have been in there have.

been some seriously over the top wedding anniversaries that border on the obscene.

I don't know about you, but the various congs I have been in there have

been some seriously over the top wedding anniversaries that border on the obscene

re the level of couple worship. I'm talkin lavish spare-no-expense type affairs,

with hundreds in attendance. Dancing, expensive gifts, speeches etc etc.

Now don't get me wrong, I love parties, I have nothing against dancing on tables,

champagne, cake, swinging from chandeliers, more champagne, but these parties

seemed to me, to be screaming: "We may not do B,days and xmas but by God we

make up for it with our anniversaries".

I know some worldy people who catered these functions and felt compelled to ask

the elephant in the room question which is

Why is this OK but not celebrating the birth of someone?

i chose to take up their odd challenge, on paragraph 16 which is among many suggestions in this article that would bring up questions if followed through by any thinking person.. how do you feel about being a christian?

I heard it said once to "never trust someone who steals your money, time or love" and IMO the WT steals all three.

Simplistic I know, but it helped greatly in my cost/benefit analysis.

thankfully my parents are converts so they aren't wierd.

seemed pretty popular by all accounts.

they are "popular" jws even now.

When you examine critically what is taught at the meetings and in publications

it is no wonder the even regular people become weird, then weirder, and finally

graduate to full blown weirdo.

That tends to happen in closed communities where there is nothing to gauge

your weirdness by and make more socially acceptable adjustments.

God is not genocidal

so at the meeting a few weeks ago the speaker was having a talk about inactive people and then he went on about how people think the god of the old testament was cruel and genocidal.

he then said that god and did not commit genocide because everything he did was for a reason.

i was shocked at how stupid that saying was.
