The "this generation" is now a perpetual generation a Buzz Lightyear of generations "to infinity and beyond."
End of discussion.

Jehovahs Witnesses and mental illness
by UnshackleTheChains ini came across this video, which looks at mental illness among jws.. it is an old video, but really hits the nail right on the head as to the reasons why there is such a high level of mental illness among the jw's.. https://youtu.be/co-b65w-zqs.

I don't know if it would be possible to conduct accurate research on such a closed group. Particularly when the people in that group live in religious lala land are intellectually and emotionally dishonest, lie to themselves and others, and who couldn't give a straight answer to save their lives.

Whatever happened to the "written review"?
by pale.emperor indoes anyone know why the written review was stopped?
i relished the half hour silence they'd give you to "write down your answers", time i spend doodling or thinking up cool song lyrics..

Lol yeah, the "oral" review. Always sounded like an article from Cosmo circa "Sex and the City" era.

Do you have JW-related dreams (nightmares)?
by compound complex ingreetings, dreamers:.
i guess it's never going away: daytime carryovers of jw-related stuff seeping into my dreams.. the majority of these dreams take place at conventions but with really weird trappings.
last night i dreamed i arrived at the site with no books, no lunch, nothing but my car keys.

I rarely dream about JWs now, but, I used to all the time. The dreams themselves were not scary just everyday JW stuff and always with a sense of dread and forboding to them, sinister even.
I have noticed I'm more likely to remember my dreams when I'm trying to figure out the answer to some question or conundrum in my awake life.
All that JW stuff really does seep into your subconscious though and can take a while for it to be exorcised.

I don't mind saying that every post-fade encounter I've had with JWs has been weird AF.
"Now they're just somebody that I used to know..."

Since leaving the JW Organization, who is believing?
by Issa ini left the jw organization last year during summer.
maybe some of you can relate.
who of you are agnostic or an atheist?
-

As a witness you were expected to announce your belief like a trumpet toot to all and sundry. Witnesses also tend to believe they had a license to ask other people including complete strangers to explain even justify their beliefs, because, apparently, when you believe you are right and have all the answers you have a right to ask and know because you are on a mission from God to put people right.
Now, I view this rather personal question as a trap. The sort of question one asks right before they give you what-for on how wrong or stupid your beliefs are. So, because of my distrust of the question I tend not to ask people what they believe re religion anymore as I feel it's none of my business and what I believe is none of theirs. The only exception to this is if they state upfront why they're asking (but even this can be a trap) or I know them very well.
Call it once bitten twice shy, but, there you have it.
