I always asked my mom in what kind of world parents would keep bringing kids to life, if they were 100% they would have to go through Armaggedon in their lifetime...... does not it seem the most cruel thing you can inflict to your own children???

Translating JWFacts to Spanish... Update?
by ILoveTTATT inas you all may know, it is an ongoing project to translate jwfacts to spanish.
given that there are more than 2 spanish-speaking jw's for every one that speaks english, it can be safely said that spanish is the #1 language in the jw world (even though everything is made originally in english).. the spanish-speaking jw's are harder to convince.
i attribute it almost 100% to socioeconomic factors.

Hola!
I am 400% with you. I am also willing to do some translating myself. If only I had the imagination to create my own blog like Cedars or the likes, I would totally do it in Spanish, as I am sure that's where the energy of the WT is concentrated now.

A letter from my Mom
by ateograciasadios infriends,.
i have seen several posts like the following, and never thought i would have to write one myself, but here we go: my dear mom is forcing me to make a move... one that i have been really avoiding as much as possible.
she wrote me an email today, and here i am giving you an idea of its contents.

Thanks problemaddict,
Obviously my dear mom has no clue about how to get information from the WT.... and of course her idea will do nothing to help my case. I guess she did find brother Brown on the website, but I do not blame her for that because, dare I say, nobody, especially in latinamerica, knows how corporate this organisation behaves.
I am from Medellín, Colombia, where did you serve, and for how long?
Thanks everyone for the comments!

Friends,
I have seen several posts like the following, and never thought I would have to write one myself, but here we go: my dear Mom is forcing me to make a move... one that I have been really avoiding as much as possible. She wrote me an email today, and here I am giving you an idea of its contents. Perhaps you all have different advices for me, and I will see what fits my sitation better.
She starts with some guilt-trip a la WT style, telling me that I have changed a lot in the past 10 years, since I moved from home (South America) to study in the US. Then she has a deal for me: 'I have been praying, and now I am ready to ask you to do this, so that Jehovah through his Holy Spirit can touch your heart, helping you to solve any doubts, because otherwise I will have to arrive to the inevitable conclusion that you have left Him, which means you are also leaving me'.
'Please call Bethel in Brooklyn, and talk to brother Brown in this number (xxxxxx). Make an appointment with him, and tell him all your doubts about the organization and about Jehovah. After we do this, we can really know what you think. I have made a vow to Jehovah so that He can help you, and I pray that he gives me strength to accept your ultimate decision. I want to be on earth when His will is done, and to help sanctify His name, and I hope He can help me be there with my two sons. Love'.
So, since I am new here and nobody really knows my situation, I clarify that I don't have any doubts now. I admited to myself that I have been an atheist for at least a couple of years, and I have no intention of going back to the borg. Some circumstances have made my fade easy, and it has been almost a year and half since I attended meetings. As many of you know by experience, I am against the wall, not so much for myself: I am dettached from the congregation in all aspects of my everyday life -except when I go back to visit my family, it becomes a problem.... but in the day-to-day routine, I don't need the congregation. It is only because I am the only person my mom really has in many aspects. She gets all the emotional and even financial support from me, and she has said that she would rather die, if I am not going to stay firm in my commintment to the borg when I was 12......
I guess I could fake it from here. Tell her that I believe all that BS, that I attend meetings, because in a way she is not able to confirm. But at some point, it feels like it is unavoidable the moment when she will shun me for not staying in. My big concern, again, is her because I am her only hope.
Anyone?

I get that it might sound racist. I am latino myself, and I think this is hillarious. More importantly, this is TRUE. Is it not because of Spanish congregations that there was, not long ago, a small increase? Even worldwide, in Latinamerican countries they are still growing...... but I doubt they will like any of this Mexican stuff, hahaha.

Thanks WTBS for changing the Kingdom Songs, you freed me!
by StephaneLaliberte inyesterday, i saw a picture of a family signing kingdom melodies together.
it made me realize a fact that i am somewhat ashamed to admit:.
for over a decade, i have been aware of the false prophecies, the deceptive statements, the lack of scriptural support for many core practices and other issues with the witnesses.

"Many of them were bland and sounded like they'd been arranged and played by a robot."
Yes, I was actually so proud of the old acoustic piano recordings, because you could hear some sort of artistry and deliberate playing. I am convinced the new recordings are played in an electric piano, probably even my a music software where you enter the notes and it reproduces the pitches for you. OR, they got the worst pianist of all to tape the melodies.

AND thanks to the WT for the old songs, because 20 years ago I decided to play an instrument so that I could play the old songs. They kept me interested, and I practiced them a lot. I am still at school, non-stop since that time, finishing a doctoral degree in music. When they changed the songs, they explained that it was to make it easier for the congregation to sing...... and you all know that's exactly the opposite: rests that are unexplicably long, asymmetric melodies, no logical rhymes, cheap, cheap, CHEAP music. I could not believe it, even with all the training I have, it was very difficult to sing.
You make me think that this is probably the reason I left too.

ohh my.....
Nobody with a minimun of honesty and decency understands how they keep talking about 1914. The comparison between the rule of satan and of jesus is a stab in their own heart. The tittle 'Enter the Kingdom Maimed, Lame, or One-Eyed' is beyond me. And of course, they make sure to insert the poison in the symposium on Friday at 2, why you should do more even if you are sick, why not to talk to family members who are not JW anymore, and why you should not go to college. How can anybody have the stomach for that? I certainly did not even when I was still in.
