Let me tell you all. Learning another language and moving 'to where the need is great', is what opened my eyes to how un-unified the organization is. I was taught from birth that the structure and organization is exactly the same all over the world. Its is not. So if more people become Need Greaters (never heard that term before moving), they will have their eyes opened.

Could a JW be DF for celebrating Festivus?
by Stealth inafter all, it's a secular holiday not a religious holiday.. if i was still an active member, i think i would start a new tradition of celebrating festivus.
most likely no jws would come, but that's okay, it's a famiily holiday anyway.. what grounds would the elders have to disfellowship you?.

Illegal immigrants in the organization?
by silent ini had a thought today that might prove interesting.
i'm wondering if there are any illegal immigrants who are witnesses?
surely it would be a great position to be in as an illegal immigrant because you could play up your plight and prey on the sympathies of others within the congregation.

There are many illegal 'need greaters' (I hate term) in my country. They can only serve as an MS or elder if they were one in their home country. Cannot be appointed unless legal. However, many are used as elders and MSs without the title. A double standard in my opinion.

Did you AWAKEN from the JWs by yourself?
by cultBgone ini was thinking about how so many posters here on jwn are frustrated and frantic to help their loved ones get away from the brainwashing of jws, and how much advice is given about how to help family members and loved ones.
i considered my own leaving and that it was internal turmoil based on the teachings getting weirder and child abuse issues, to name just a few, and it made me wonder:.
did you self-awaken or were you assisted by the gentle proddings of a friend or family member?

No matter which congregation I was in, there was always a lack of real love. That coupled with seeing how different the organization works in Latin America, I could see there was no real unity. Things that would never fly back in a US congregation were being allowed in my Latin American congregation. It caused me to go online and search about Jws and found out about the UN and it was all downhill from there.

If he did work for Pixar, he was obviously fired for lack of skills. The jw animation is terrible when compared to Pixar's latest stuff. It's embarrassing actually. The caleb videos compare with Toy Story 1 in quality. 20 years behind.

After reading the March 15th 2015 QFR, Daniel's 'prophecy' about 607 and 1914 is going to be thrown out. They are going way beyond what is written with times time and half a time and all that.
