Hi Guys, I'm new here...
by Mikado inbeen lurking for years, but couldn't log on.
for some reason, my email spam filter is inaccessable, and ended up having to open another account, simply to become a member... wonder how many others have had a similar problem.. its been an eye opener reading everyones life experiences, often so similar.. i was almost a born in, with a hardcore family.
abusive stepfather who was one of the original jws in the area, so much so, that it was called the xxxxx family religion.... been out for 25 years, am glad every day for that!!.

Good point 'whatthehades'...
I didnt want positions, as I am not one who enjoys the spotlight or "telling others what to do".
I prefer to simply help people from the sidelines.
But many appointed ones in the org are obsessed with titles and positions and getting the glory from all the 'friends'....If they dont get these, they often just disappear anyway....

Hey "just kiddinng"...I am in the position of being "appointed and serving etc" in the cong, and let me tell you, its so much harder to sever the ties when you learn the TTATT from this position.
I plan on fading out, but in the meantime it is killing me!'
So, not getting appointed is a good thing for you. Its also good that you dont have a zealous pioneer wife, as this would also make it harder to leave if she is not of the same thinking as you....
BUT, one thing concerns me....why did you even want those "positions"?
Was it for recognition or pride, or was it to help people in the cong more? In the end remember that positions in the cong or organisation are just "big fish in a very very small and insignificant fish bowl"....of no value or postion at all in the real world....

Cong issues
by Batman89 inits seemed like in my old hall(im still in just leared tthatt) evey other local needs part we had was about either gossip or needing more effort in the ministry.
also about brothers needing to step up and "reach out".. were/are there alot of gossip,lack of ministry support or lack of brothers in your hall when you were a jw?.

Ha!, where we are, they will try and create some juicy "local needs parts" even if there are no issues going on!
That then gets the gossip chain going, then sooner or later a real issue ends up arising!

its still only 8;30 am in the east coast of Australia.....

Does Obsession With Sexual Sin Ruin Governance?

so a bank that freely violates the law, commits massive fraud, launders drug money and lies to investors is too moral to take money from porn stars.
one of the things i realized as an ex-jw is that masses of people are deceived and distracted by sexual mischief/sins while ignoring vastly more harmful wrongdoing in general society.

I skipped the meeting again!! Wife gives me a look I have never seen...
by DATA-DOG ini had a rough day of physical work and was tired and cold.
i decided to stay home and rest.
when my wife found out, a very strange look swept over her face for just an instant.

Are we all actually "bad / evil / immoral" after leaving the faith?
by stuckinarut2 inso recently there have been several posts with references to talks and articles that imply the following:.
most of those who learn ttatt or fade from the "truth", are actually practicers of bad things, eg immorality, hence that is why 'we' now find fault with the org?.
i find this so offensive that they imply such.
