  there was a video at the convention about hezzekia and the angel killing 185,000. this is just one example of how the bible is mostly stories and propaganda.

  there is absolutely no evidence this event ever happened.

  first the idea that the assyrians had 185000 troops is preposterous.

  And so the question HAS to be asked:

  If the GB is the "SOLE" channel of communication, is it their fault that they got things WRONG, or was it the fault of GOD?

  Seriously, they cant have it both ways!

  Either GOD is directing them and making MISTAKES, or they are NOT speaking exclusively for God?

  Elders/MSs and Higher Education

  would a brother who is an elder or ministerial servant be looked down upon or ostracized for endeavoring into high education?.

  the reason i am asking this question is because i know of a ms who went to and graduated college (us) with a masters in science and engineering.

  he also taught these subjects at an adult education program.

  At an elders and MS meeting with the CO a few years back, we were specifically told that if an appointed man, or his family living under his roof went on to higher education (beyond high school), his "qualifications would be called into question"

  But of course the hypocrisy and irony is that bethel keeps asking for any with university qualifications to go and serve them! Ones such as doctors, dentists, lawyers etc all have to attend university right?

  i think the reason the borg really went on a cost cutting move and is selling off all thier buildings has become obvious.

  the cult is telling people that there fast growing but then the numbers seem to indicate about a 1% growth rate.

  this would give them roughly 800,000 new baptized ones in ten years give or take do to the small increase per year from previous gains.

  Yes!

  Fantstic thread!

  I put those steps into practice over a year ago, and it has worked well.

  Remember to not get aggressive or defensive. Just politely remind them of "appropriate boundaries" but doing so with a mild manner.

  And do not engage for a long time, or risk being drawn into something you wish you hadn't.

  Less, is More!

  evidently, jesus has misinformed the gb/wtbts since the late 90's.

  clapping was disrespectful, because jesus felt that those who were df'd should not be given a pat on the back.

  this is the first photographic evidence i have seen that the kingdom halls in peru, like the ones in chile, put up their national flag for their independence day celebrations.

  i had heard rumors about it before, but now we have evidence.

  don't know if we'll have to wait till next year for more evidence, but now i have both peru and chile on my list of places to go and visit!.

  But is the building joined to another place perhaps that is not owned by witnesses?

  Surely after all the exposure about this hypocrisy, the society is not still allowing this to take place?

  bit of a long winding topic title but the thread on the dub in the bunker video made me think of what thing the wts does that are seen as basically impossible for anyone else to do and therefore evidence of holy spirit and god's blessing, yet those same things are done by the rest of the world day in, day out.. i have a few examples:.

  - ability to buy a feck off big printing press and print thousand of magazines an hour.

  only that every other big publishing organisation uses the same presses to do the same thing.. - ability to get inexperienced people to act using an acting coach as well as produce feature length films with reasonably high production value levels and special effects.
