  Did your congregation rehearse service meeting parts?

  i was just thinking back to some parts i conducted.

  when other publishers were involved in the part, its success often depended on how well rehearsed the participants were.

  timing, proper interplay of dialogue, dramatic impact, etc.. as the one giving the part or as one drafted to do a demo, did your elders require rehearsals?.

  Technically, every part is supposed to be rehearsed in front of the PO or COBE before the night of the part.

  In reality, it rarely ever happens!

  Why do they play the charade of "passing a resolution" when they are really just TELLING the flock what will be done?!

  WHY and HOW can't the average witness see this for what it is?

  Perhaps their "minds have been blinded"?!

  Bible Contradictions regarding forgiveness & revenge...Not a trustworthy moral guide

  recent broadcast have gerrit losch talking about not holding a grudge and in septembers broadcast david splain talking about not demanding an apology after being wronged.

  the subject of forgiveness and revenge is one of many examples of moral contradictions in the bible.

  the book 1984 mentioned the terms double think and double speak.

  Will they change the Yearbook format?

  pure speculation here but i'm wondering if - with the numbers flat-lining - that the gb will stop giving country by country stats, or perhaps at least some of the statistics.. we used to get a monthly stat in the km - then that was "simplified" to "highlights".

  only the "good" stuff.

  then with the new clam workbook, no stats at all.. i wonder if the yearbook will soon only contain "positive" spun stats.

  The things that are defined as "ministry activity" or "service time" will continue to be broadened so that it seems like witnesses are busier! Therefore, the yearbook activity will be padded to look AMAZING!

  No different to the way that air in a potato crisps bag is designed to make the bag look bigger!

  Eg, now a "publisher" is someone who just submits a report slip of 15minutes!

  A "placement" is now simply texting someone a link to a video.

  A "return visit" is saying hello to the same person each day as they walk past the literature cart!

  "You Can Do Just Enough Ministry To Dislike It"

  when you were "in" did you ever actually enjoy the ministry?

  and i made no secret about it.

  instead i would joke about me feather knocking, and made sure i had my bible in hand so as they come to the door they know what im about so they can shut me down before i even start.. i always wondered how or why there were people who enjoyed it.

  Great thread PE.

  Its been over two years since I went out, and I have to say that the very thought of it makes me shudder now.

  It is simply an activity designed to keep witnesses busy. No different to running on a treadmill...

  Honestly, MOST witnesses go out because it is expected of them, and in order to be viewed as "spiritual", they have to be SEEN out in service!

  Its all about outward appearances!
