i could never understand why some people who know the truth about the "truth" ever go back.
once you understand all the hypocrisy and negatives, i would think it's almost impossible to go back!.
If someone chooses to go back after having A FULL knowledge of the FACTS, about the society, (TTATT), then they are clearly doing it just for the social aspect....
Also, their internal honesty needs to be questioned!
It precisely BECAUSE I value truth and honesty that I chose to leave!

was merrily walking down my local high street this morning when a lady approached me and than told me not to worry i'm not a jw, i said dont worry i used to be one and she was astounded and we went into a full blown doctrinal biblical discussion , she was representing her local baptist church, i really shot her away with my knowledge and she agreed she's never met someone like me before , she said that i would still need to repent and and accept jc as my personal saviour etc blah blah and that the devil was pleased that i'd accepted a path of atheism , i said you think the devil is directing people to atheism, i said you dont think the devil would be wanting people to be joining devil worshipping groups, occult groups, wiccan/pagan and witch covern groups?
i asked her to direct me to see a physical image of the devil and demons and to direct to to where they reside etc, i asked don't you think demons can manifest themselves in the form of humans?
she agreed, i then said where are they?

so a couple came into the library where i work today and the woman said she was from the british sign language association and asked if i would display a leaflet for her.
when she handed me the leaflet the jw website logo jumped out at me as did the words 'would you like to study the bible with jehovah's witnesses?
' there was a small picture that had someone conversing in sign language but the other pictures were typical jw leaflet pictures.
Yes, I agree, it was quite dishonest.
However, in advertising, it is a common thing for a company to start another entity that they can use to validate their claims.
For instance, I believe that the food chain "Subway" have a legal name called "doctors inc".
They then make claims like "our products are supported by Doctors inc of america.....

some things of note here, it looks to me that they're encouraging young ones to befriend older people and "people not like them".
could this be because many of the young ones are now leaving?.

That checklist they suggest should have the following points to look for in a good friend:
"Ability to think for oneself" (critical thinking skills)
"A person who does not expect you to have the same legislated religious thoughts"
"A friend who will not sell you out to the elders if you dare question the religion of your birth"

i read on another thread how this site has helped another user and that for them it has been a form of therapy.. for me yes, jwn has most certainly been a form of therapy.. i recall the days i first came to jwn (in 2004) and couldn't believe i had found people who were of the same opinion as myself in regards to the society.
it was this site that led me to reading ray franz's book 'crisis of conscience' which i read twice within a week.
it also led me to jw facts that goes into every nook and cranny regarding the society's teachings, policies and history.. note: i also visit many other sites and watch you tube videos a lot, but gravitate here most of the time.. coming here to express my inner most thoughts and feelings has helped me no end and allows me to overcome my frustrations.
Yes, this community was integral in helping me to see that I was not alone while waking up!
I could see that many, many others traveled the path before me, and their input helped me greatly.
I hope too that my little contributions may help others too who are waking up
