last week, two police officers threw a cat into the river to drown it, after owner alleged it had attacked her and no longer wanted it.. .
personally, i find it disgusting and completely inhumane.
Any intelligent PERSON, much less a Police Officer, would've taken the cat to the Animal Shelter, at least. You don't just drown an animal because you don't know what to do with it.
If anyone watches Animal Planet, there's a show about ASPCA police officers in NY that actually throw people in jail for doing similar things.

does anyone know of any galleries, co-ops, etc...that would be interested in showing photographs?
i'm trying to get a portfolio together of some of my photos, as well as possibly some artwork...but, mainly photos right now.
i don't really know anyone around here, in the whole art world, and before i go hit the pavement w/ my little portfolio, i'm wondering if any of you know anyone that might be able to give me some advice, know people, etc... if you need any samples of photos, i'd be willing to provide.
Hey, if they'd be willing to show my stuff, I'd be willing to drive it. Anywhere that's not 8 hours away from here would be fine. I just need to get going somewhere w/ it, and stop procrastinating.

Got to go w/ Lord of the Rings Trilogy, as well....amazing stuff.
But, I really, really like an older movie called "Empire of the Sun", with a very young Christian Bale. It's a very good movie about WWII in Shanghai, and all the British that were put in work camps.

Band: Depeche Mode, the Cure, etc...altho, I have so many different types of music, it really depends on my mood. But, those have always been a constant.
Female Singer: Sarah McLachlan. She has an amazing voice, and I love her music. Island Boy, Tori is great too....
Male Singer: Well, Martin Gore of DM has a voice that could melt butter... I like Dave Matthews, been to see him a couple times...

in general, after nearly forty years in the "truth", i conclude that most witnesses are no prize as friends.. there are several reasons why:.
their "love" is often very conditional and qualified - sort of a "i'll be your friend as long as you count time and attend meetings" situation.. they are often so busy with theocratic busywork ( field service, meetings) that they have little time left for anything .
creative or interesting, like a real hobby.
I always thought you'd been a real friend, even when you had your ballistic, wine-glass throwing episodes. haha.
I had thought about trying to find you multiple times, but then, realizing how gung ho you were (or i thought you'd still be), i never tried.
Probably because I didn't want to be disappointed, and didn't want to make you uncomfortable...I knew that if you were still ultra-pioneer girl, even if you'd wanted to talk to me, you'd have made the decision not to, for "the organization's sake".
So, i'm glad you found me! :)
on another thread, elsewhere said that he didn?t like going door to door, especially since he didn?t believe in what he preached.
i was a little surprised by his statement because i, on the other hand, did believe in what i preached.
i don?t think i would have been able to preach something i didn?t believe in.

This is why i tried to avoid service. Hard to talk up something you think is crap.
if you are no longer associating with jws either from fading or daing or being df'd, do you miss your jw friends?
have you found over time that the void was filled and you no longer needed them?
did you in fact find out your life was happier without them?
All my JW friends that I would've missed, are no longer JW's. So, it worked out fine for me.
