i sent a pm to one of the forum assistants telling him this, and he said i should post and let everyone know how it went.. i didn't want to do this until mario posted first, because it's about his daughter, not mine.
but, i know all you wonderful people out there are waiting for some news on the memorial service, and i think mario is too grief stricken to be able to write right now.
sometimes these things hit you harder after it's all over, because now you have more time to think about it.

he asked her if she thought my not attending anymore had to do with the fact that i had a business and now i'm "materialistic".

We haven't had any more CO visits and I know it has been more than 6 months....hopefully they have given up on us. The trouble is, they do know where we live. I don't answer the door anyway to anybody unless I want them to come into the house!!!

last evening we went out with 2 other former jw couples a couple of guys and their wives i knew from the old days of bethel.
we were discussing the public apology that the catholic church just authorized to be made to the child abuse victims for their cases being mishandled as well as that $100 million dollar check they just cut.. .

And "NO"...I never expect an apology....The time for them to give an apology would have been the Service Meeting the week after the May 2000 Dateline special about pedophiles within the WTBS. I anxiously waited for them to read that letter and came home from that meeting so disappointed that they didn't acknowledge any guilt...they swept the issue under the rug and ignored it. They are not humble enough to make an apology...There began my lack of respect for the WTBS.

I have gleaned a very important point that will help me when I write a letter to a relative that scolded me because I said the elders didn't give me the visits they promised me when I was going thru my divorce. 2 relatives told me I was speaking against the elders, maybe sharing this point in a letter will help them understand how they need to be encouraging to me the widow, who was raising an orphan son during a very depressing time in my life.
We can offer practical help to older fellow Christians, widows, and orphans and "speak consolingly to the depressed souls.

after reading ray franzs 2 books and much information on this site we did a search comparing wt qoutes and had a local elder soon to be circuit ovsr at our house and the funny thing was he was unaware of much of the early wts.he also expressed some doubts when he applied to be a ministerial servant and they sent him back a letter making him an elder.his wife was here and when we brought coc out she jumped up like a person on fire.
the elder asked where else could we go?so there is doubt amoung the elders for sure.
i have a sense of loss however cannot support a self proclaimed prophet that is contrary to scriptural teaching and associated with falsehood and bloodguilt.
