Operation Tomorrow

just to let you all know why i won't be able to post for some time...i am finally getting in to the hospital for a much-needed operation that kept being postponed.

i have been back and forth to three different hospitals and various doctor's offices for tests, x-rays, consults and then more pre-op tests and x-rays.

(i have never heard of "nuclear testing before now...i wondered if they were going to send me to nasa!

Elder admits to porn problem

i posted a week or two ago that i would stop attending meetings and being an elder.

i decided to wait on this after we received the june 7th boe letter.

i was interested in getting more information from other friends & family at bethel.

Just another examply of WHY we should never confess our sins or problems to a human. That's why we have a conscience!!!

I truly feel bad for this man and his wife and children.

here is a few pics of our home...they are not very good though ...lol...i don't have any pictures up yet, most of my plants are setting on my table (still), some stuff is still out in the moving van and our grass is not in and garage is not built (the cut lumber in our yard is going to be milled and used for our deck and garage)!

Mormons do a shunning?

this lady i work with started studying with mormons and then decided to quit.

whe said they told her she was in a darkness or an outer circle something like that.

but at any rate she decided that she did not mind and never went back, she said she would live in her outer realm.

I was watching "10 years younger" and it featured a 22 year old girl that said she got baptized as a Mormon in her teens but when she was an unwed mother they "shunned her"....as a result of that she became severely depressed with NO friends. Sure reminded me of the JW's.

I enjoyed reading about your JW life...can identify quite well with your sentiments.

I am still a "fader"........3 years now. This board has been a life saver to me!!! I then started meeting other posters in person, and that helped me on the healing road as well.

Being in a cult is like some alcoholics feel, you can't just stop and have no side affects.

Lack of friends is huge, but contrary to the WTBS sayings, there are some great people outside of the JW's.......very kind and caring people.

Sorry, need to moan and belly ache

i normally try not to moan and belly ache here, but today i'm really down.

the other day i was kidding and joking about being "socially-challenged", it can be fun to do this... but sometimes it catches up to me.

i spend the vast majority of my evenings and weekends alone... movies, restaurants, community events, parties, you name it.

We are driving down the road, NOdenial driving and me reading your topic to him.

WE do not feel you are shy. We found you to be a very social guy at the crawfest and one we enjoyed talking to.

I think what another poster just said is true: as JW's we were discouraged from being social, even within the JW world. We certainly were not to socialize at all with "worldly tm" people.

I encourage you to read Dr. Phil's new book about dating successfully. I bought it for my friend who is going thru a divorce and read it before I gave it to her....it is worth the read.
