It really hurts when our family shuns and mistreats us....but to think she walked into your MOTHER'S house, ate her food and shunned her is REPULSIVE to me.

It shows she is really in a cult........which at this point she has NO clue she is in one. I agree with Steve's post. IF they choose to shun, then they should be shunned, give them what they dish out. She hadn't shown up for 5 years, what was she thinking anyways?

We don't need to be around negative people anymore. Being in the truth(tm), we were always reminded "to do more", hardly ever were we given commendations. The religion works on negatives and self righteousness.

Do what you and your Mom have to do to feel good about yourselves, even if it means shunning the sister/daughter who only knows how to please the rules of "men"...in a cult.

I have had to do this with one member of my family....it hurts like hell. But I have to stand up for myself and not their self righteous attitudes anymore.

for me, it was realizing that nearly every prophecy or commentary on a scriptural passage has changed.

We relocated. The elders gave us a "welcoming visit" and said: we need to see your publisher cards, YOU could be pedophiles. (gasp....choke me why don't they)

I tried to go for 3 more months and gave up. I couldn't look at men who were suppose to be appointed by holy spirit that were so vile in my home to accuse ME of something so horrid.

They don't know the first thing about "brotherly love" or welcoming new ones.

this better version should be forwarded to media outlets as a more informative version for their audience.

they also embrace political neutrality.

The JW's certainly didn't remain "neutral" to political endeavors as shown by their 10 year alligiance as an NGO with the United Nations.

That is pure hypocrisy.

Based on their non-neutral postion with the Wild Beast...the JW org should be shunned by all real Christians!!!

Internet - Thursdays Service Meeting

in the service meeting on thursday, there was an item in the kingdom ministry about the dangers of the internet.

in our kingdom hall they discussed the internet and sexual predators at length and mentioned a recent circuit assembly where the district overseer went on and on about the internet without mentioning specific sites.

the circuit assembly and the service meeting discussed that apostate sites and others for jws were used by non-jws to date non-married jw sisters and also by sexual predators.

You have more of a chance of mixing with sexual predators at a KH!

They openly accept them!!! Give them their privileges back....

...and there they are at the KH searching out their next victim.

it has triggered so many memories of my own "abduction" by my father (3 years) and the reunion and later more abandonment (another 3 years) and rejection.

yesterday one of my sons had a seizure while getting ready for school in the morning.

this is the second time such a thing has taken place, the first time was his being on the way to school a couple of weeks ago--but due to circumstances it was suspected to be related to a possible heart problem, and not a seizure after all.. when my other son came into our room to let us know something crazy was going on, my husband raced upstairs and realized it was a grand mal.

he helped clear the area, and held my son's head in his arms.
