"What...
....was I thinking when I married a cradle dub who was da'd for 10 yrs and is now soon to be reinstated?
....hope is there when you do not share a common world view with your partner?
....do you do with all the anger and rage?
....is real Christianity anyway? I thought I had a clue once!
i had occassion to have a conversation with my good friend xenawarrior last weekend and seeing as everyone knows i know everything *lol* she asked me a question, but alas, i couldn't answer, for once in my life...*lol*... anyway, why do people put ads in the classified section thanking st. jude or st. mary, or any number of saints for things?
it almost reminds me of making an invocation or something, but nevertheless a quandry.
anybody got an idea or an answer?.
However as has been alluded to, this brand of Catholicism is more common in places like Mexico and South America.
OK, I have to object here to the above statement because if you haven't checked lately, this so called "brand" of Catholicism is also very common in the very "agricultural" states (i.e. my great state of OR) WA, CA etc. As a Catholic who is married to an almost reinstated JW, I take a bit of offense to being "branded", although I have to agree there are varying shades or degrees of devoutness...not unlike the JW's N'est ce pas? I am NOT superstitious, NOT devout, but would consider praying to St. Jude and publishing IF I felt the need to. This does NOT mean I am from South America or Mexico, nor am I Hispanic. "The Oregonian" and other local papers here have St. Jude notices published regularly.

my boyfriend (feels more like fiance though i guess as we've talked about but just need the ring) and i have been together over two yrs and living together for over a yr. he never was a jw, and professes to be no religon and isn't even sure god exsists.
is your signifigant other a jw or non-witness?
Hi, I'm new to the boards trying to learn about JW's. I am married to one who was DF'd for 10 yrs (now that I know what that is), and decided last year right b4 Christmas to go back full force. We have been together 5 yrs-(lived together first for 2 1/2 (both of us were married b4) and now married for 3.) BTW, his first wife, marriage, kids, entire family is still JW, all in good standing (third generation dubs!). He DA'd before their divorce, told me he was "mad at God"
I am a Trinitarian loving, Jesus loving Christian-I guess if you need a label, "born again"-YUK I hate labels... Anyway, before we married, I asked him ALOT of questions about his belief in God. He said at that time that he was a Christian, and that he believed in the Trinity. I did not know that dubs did not believe in the Trinity when I asked btw. We have celebrated all holidays, etc. together as a family for the last 4 years. I thought we were on the same page together, and now realize that we never were even in the same book.
So much more to say, but let me sum it up by saying this is a living hell. With the holidays and both my son's and my b-days coming up things will be that much worse. Yes, I HAVE attended meetings with him, HAVE read tons of WTS literature, lurked on this board trying to find out about YOU and your lives. I have done just about everything I can to learn and not BECOME a JW, so I can hopefully understand better.
He will be reinstated soon, and I am told this is when the fun will really start.... Please don't tell me how bad it will get-we are already there-I need some encouragement and hope! Thanks to all for sharing your lives and stories, I have learned so much.
i'm like mr. bean!.

englishman.
Royally speaking...145%...Prince Charles ( this is the only "smiley" with ears like his!)
i'm in a bit of a state at the moment, my wife has just left me about 30 mins ago and took the kids...i don't know where.... ok, some of you long-timers may remember the problems i had with my son ben, who decided that the jw religion wasn't for him about a year ago.
i supported him as best i could through that and he's developed into a fine young man with a more healthy spiritual attitude, investigationg a number of christian churches in the area and finally settled on church of england, which he really likes now.. although no longer a christian myself i have no objection to them pursuing whatever religious path they choose (obviously within reason).
that has been the case with all of my children: ben, 15, charlotte, 14 and chloe, 12. i have never attempted to stop my wife taking them to the meetings although i have voiced to them privately my concerns about the religion.
(((((((Dean)))))) BUMP... please update us!!!
now you can find out!

and surprise, surprise..... i was tinkerbell!
Hi all..newbie here, and a non-JW married to one who is reinstating thus the name...(sigh) FUN TEST!...ALADDIN
Flying away on that carpet would be handy....
have any of you on this forum, ever met up with anyone considered famous?
i've met a great deal of people over the years.
one of my most memorable: dennis leary, drinking a few pints with him as he sang "margaritaville" from the jukebox.
speaking of musicians...I got to meet one of my favorite composers-Aaron Copeland. What a shame I did not know his music that well at the time, but because of meeting him, I really took the time out to listen to his work. What a thrill for a 17 yr old (at the time)!
i was observing my loyal wife sending out anniversary cards to other witnesses,.
as she has done for many years.
if we were ordinary protestants, we would probably.
I have to tell you, this is EXACTLY what I have seen and experienced as a non-JW wife, attending meetings etc. Thanks to YOU and I mean ALL OF YOU>>> I will NEVER become a JW, even if it means the loss of my marriage. Keep enlightening us in Christendom who were former "lurkers"...
