My youngest child is now 11 years old. Her favorite books are ALL the Harry Potter Books. I won't post them here though.....Me thinks Simon would not like it. I enjoy the books as much as my daughter, they are very well written and....they have witches, spells, magic.....everything that the organization says is demonic!
We are patiently waiting for the fifth book to come out in a few weeks. Till then, she will keep reading them over and over and over.....

The Society's response to my letter regarding my dad's suicide
by cruzanheart inwell, i finally got a response to my letter, and it only took them almost three months!
models of efficiency, they are.
actually, big tex and i think they had to run this through the legal department.

That letter was devoid of any empathy. It was a heartless recounting of what the elders had apparently related to them, all to cover themselves in the event of any legal action. For them to actually seek out the congregation and speak to the elders there, they must be afraid of something. That must account for the tone of the letter, they are trying to ward off another lawsuit. This response reflects the organization exactly....cold and unfeeling.
You guys try to have a good anniversary.....put this stuff aside for the night and think about it tomorrow.

I am now officially Disfellowshipped
by kelpie intalk about kicking you when you are down!
you all know i just lost my first baby through miscarriage and that my mum was supportive through out the whole ordeal... well it didn't last.
she called me last night and informed me that there had been a committee meeting held and that the elders had decided due to the circumstances that they would disfellowship me.

So sorry that it had to come to this, Kelpie. They excel at kicking a person when they are down.
Like others have said.......it is a cult, what more can you expect? I say count your REAL blessings in life, and enjoy your freedom.

....to blondie!
Reminds me of what someone said once when I was complaining about how nervous I was giving talks in front of so many people.....told me to picture them in their underwear ......it didn't work, I was still nervous.
Hey, Jesus didn't wear pants.....so why do I?

No invitation
by inky inhi , i have not posted here for a long time but have bee lurking.

At many weddings we attended over the years, including our own family weddings, disfellowshipped family were there, and no one gave a rip about it.
Yes, I also know of DF'd relatives who attended weddings of family, but not the reception.
If it was my son, I would go. And, I would take pictures! You gave birth to him, loved him, cared for him.....you before any others in that hall deserve to see him get married.

This place..
by berylblue ini read a post the other day where someone mentioned not liking those who just whined and were obviously looking for hugs and attention.. i realize i do this.
it's because there are so many wonderful people here who care and understand.
in all the time i've been here, i've only gotten two kind of nasty replies to my posts.

I hope that I never said anything to upset you. When I look back after I post a reply sometimes, I really don't like how it came out sounding. But, I mean well....most of the time.
You vent here as much as you want, beryl. There isn't a single person here who doesn't have problems. We all need to just let it out every now and then.

"The Bible says curse be unto a woman who wears pants, and those who wear their husband's clothes. That is why the world is in such a state today," Mswati, ruler of the impoverished feudal nation of about one million, said late on Thursday.
Ummmm, where does it say this? Did I miss something?
Yup, the unforgiveable sin, pants on a woman.
