Hi OldSoul, I appreciate your simple explanation of that scripture. Instead of using hocus pocus, smoke and mirrors to explain that scripture, you just let the scriptures speak for themselves without any added commentary. The WT has a habit of either putting God into the equation when it is not called for by the text or inserting themselves into the equation when it is clearly not called for by the text. Of course, their claim to be the Faithful and Discreet Slave would take a major hit if it is was discovered by their adherents that the prophecy in Daniel concerning Nebuchadnezzar was only fulfilled in his time and was never meant to have a dual fulfillment. The seven times could have meant a literal seven years or it could have meant a small period of time when Nebuchadnezzar was out in the fields chewing the cud, out of his mind. The WT performs mathematical wizardry when they try to claim that the seven times equates to 2,520 years that started in 607 BCE and ended in 1914 when Jesus allegedly returned invisibly. There are 360 days in the Jewish calendar, multiply 360 days times seven, and you have 2,520 days. But don't stop there. Numbers 14:34 mentions the day for a year punishment in which God made the Israelites wander in the wilderness for forty years. So, voila, that means that the 2,520 days mentioned in Daniel's prophecy aren't really days, they are really years. Mix in eye of newt and snout of pig, shout presto chango and there you have it. Who'da thunk that the punishment doled out to the Israelites in the wilderness has a direct connection to the Israelites situation about 900 years later. Then there is that teensy weensy problem of the actual siege of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar which occurred in the 18th year of his reign. That would change the date of the siege to 587/586 BCE. Oops! But don't let a little thing like a twenty year discrepancy worry the WT. Why, despite the fact that their reckonings throws all the reigns of the Neo-Babylonian and Assyrian kings off by twenty years. Pish! Don't let that worry them. They'll just unleash their goon squads to insist that they are right. After all, they are God's FDS. And don't you forget it, all you little people. Isn't it alot less confusing when one lets the scriptures do the talking, instead of inserting oneself into the picture? Thanks OldSoul for pointing out the obvious. Mr. Shakita

Daniel 4:10-17
by OldSoul inthe meaning of daniel 4:10-17 is found in daniel 4:20-27. i am going to place the interpretation daniel gives for each element beside the interpretation given by the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses.. i invite any witness to explain why the interpetation given in the bible is open to re-interpretation of a later fulfillment that does not correspond, on a single element, with the orginal interpretation.. .
from daniel 4:20-27. daniel's interpretation.

Just spoke with my brother in Baytown. He will be evacuating tomorrow morning. His house is just 8 ft above sea level, and with the storm surge suspected of being 19 or more feet....it doesn't look good at all. He doesn't expect to have anything left to come home to.
He is on his way up to our house in New Jersey. He will stop at the half way point somewhere in Alabama and wait and watch the news to see if he will be able to return or not. If he sees that there is nothing left...he will be living with us for a while.
It is all so very scary and sad.
Take care everyone in the path of this monster.

What will sharks eat in the New System?
by PopeOfEruke inok so we all know the lion will lie down with the lamb in the new system.
somehow the lions's 6 inch canines will become redundant and he will suddenly get the urge to eat grass.
acutally the lion's will choose to eat mint and they will jsut remember the missing lamb flavor.

That'a easy Pope. Everyone knows that those nasty sharks will become wimps in God's new world. Their diet will consist of seaweed, kelp and the occasional piece of wood from a shipwreck. After all, sharks need fiber too.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractors working on a levee breach were fired on by gunmen but no one was hurt, said the Corps' Mike Rogers. It was not clear if the two incidents were connected.
Let's wait for all the facts, ISP. These incidents could be two seperate ones. With all the chaos and confusion in New Orleans, it's important to give it some time to sort out fact from fiction.

Hey Dave. I was about to add the rest of the story, but you beat me to it. Rita Cosby reported on what happened less than an hour ago. Evidently, these contractors, repairing a bridge were fired on by some housing projects nearby. It was a bridge that connects Lake Pontchartrain to Mississippi. The contractors called in help right away. The police arrive and return fire, killing five or six of these loser, lowlife, scumbags. Here these contractors are coming in to repair a bridge to begin the process of one day returning New Orleans to normal and they are shot at for their efforts. Hurrah to the police! Finally, these thugs get their comeuppance.

NEW ORLEANS (Sept. 4) - Police shot eight people carrying guns on a New Orleans bridge Sunday, killing five or six of them, a deputy chief said.
New Orleans police say the gunmen fired on a group of contractors traveling across the bridge while on their way to make repairs.
A spokesman for the Army Corps of Engineers says the 14 contractors were on their way to repair a canal. They were traveling across a bridge under police escort when they were fired upon.
The contractors were on their way to launch barges into Lake Pontchartrain to fix the 17th Street Canal.
The shootings took place on the Danziger Bridge, which spans a canal connecting Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River.

This seems to be the accurate story. Eight people were carrying guns on a New Orleans bridge and they opened fire on 14 contractors on their way to repair a canal. The police that were escorting the contractors returned fire and killed five or six of the gunmen. I retract my earlier statement about police opening fire and asking questions later. I just saw a scroll on CNN that reported no contractors were killed. It was the gunmen that were killed.

NEW ORLEANS - Police shot eight people carrying guns on a New Orleans bridge Sunday, killing five or six, a deputy chief said. A spokesman for the Army Corps of Engineers said the victims were contractors on their way to repair a canal. The contractors were walking across a bridge on their way to launch barges into Lake Pontchartrain to fix the 17th Street Canal, said John Hall, a spokesman for the Corps.
Earlier Sunday, New Orleans Deputy Police Chief W.J. Riley said police shot at eight people, killing five or six. Here is the latest Simon. Evidently, these persons were on their way to repair a canal. The police obviously shot first and asked questions later. There is just one tragedy after another in New Orleans. If these are the New Orleans police, they need to stand down and take some r and r before they go back on the job. I feel that the New Orleans police are too traumatized to make rational decisions at this time.

Journalist predicted Katrina's effects on New Orleans over three months ago
by Neo inyes, we knew the disaster could be predicted and indeed it was.
here's one more piece of evidence: journalist chris mooney wrote an article in may, 23rd, that described in detail what we're seeing right now in new orleans.
he didn't have to be an expert to figure that the city was in serious danger.

And that's just part of the multibillion-dollar program officials with the Corps have envisioned, which would include strengthening huge swaths of the Louisiana gulf coast. New Orleans would be the "only city in the country or even the world" with Category 5 hurricane protections, Corps' senior project manager Al Naomi told me last November. But these ideas are in little more than a brainstorming stage at this point; whether the bureaucratic Corps can lurch into action quickly enough to protect a city faced with ever increasing vulnerabilities remains a serious question. "Twenty years will be too late for New Orleans," says LSU's Van Heerden, who favors a specially funded congressional project more akin to the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Hey Neo, I just noticed in the article that you posted that the expert that I referred to is quoted in the article. His name is Ivor Van Heerden. He was the one that warned all the powers that be about the coming inevitable destruction. The irony is that the winds that actually came through New Orleans were not category three winds or category four winds. The winds of the hurricane never went past 100 M.P.H. in New Orleans. That is only the equivalent of a category two storm. You'll remember that the storm veered to the east right before it hit shore. As bad as the situation is, how much worse would it have been if a category four or five storm made a direct hit? What do the Army Corp of Engineers have to do to make a levee system that can truly withstand a category four or a category five hurricane if a category two storm caused the catastrophic destruction and flooding that we witnessed? Some have proposed putting a massive concrete barrier up to act as a catch basin if New Orleans is ever hit by a category four or five storm again. This is what the article that you posted as a possible solution to stop a hurricane's storm surge:
Meanwhile, the Army Corps of Engineers and others have considered the notion of armoring the I-10 twin span, near the mouth of Lake Pontchartrain, with a miles-long bulwark rising out of the water. If tall and strong enough, the sea wall, dubbed "Operation Block," would knock down any storm surge rising out of the Gulf of Mexico before it hit the lake -- in short, stopping a hurricane with concrete
Since New Orleans is the largest port in America, you can be sure there is no doubt but that they will rebuild and shore up an inadequate levee system. There would be too much economic loss if they wouldn't repair and rebuild. I just hope that the Army Corp of Engineers can come up with a solution that will be able to withstand a catastrophic storm making a direct hit on New Orleans.
