i come from a family of people who question everything. They are fairly liberal. When i converted (or was converted - i was 11), my critical thinking all but stopped. the most positive way of facing my past is to realize that it made me who i am today. But, yes, i felt superior. The Jdubs really feed into one's ego. I am just glad that i am out now.

Looking Back, Are You Embarrassed By Your Attitudes, Speech, Actions as a JW?
by minimus ini think of how judgmental we were as witnesses.
"worldly ones" were almost as bad as disfellowshipped ones but not as bad as "apostates"..

Translating JWFacts to Spanish... Update?
by ILoveTTATT inas you all may know, it is an ongoing project to translate jwfacts to spanish.
given that there are more than 2 spanish-speaking jw's for every one that speaks english, it can be safely said that spanish is the #1 language in the jw world (even though everything is made originally in english).. the spanish-speaking jw's are harder to convince.
i attribute it almost 100% to socioeconomic factors.

i got in contact with a girl i used to study with. she is a lesbian, and is very happy to now be able to be her authentic self. even her jw parents have accepted her for who she is. she is not on this forum, though

i skipped most of these, especially number 5. When i was still in but wanting out, i would pray to the universe for a way out. And i got it. I definitely went through a mourning of all the many years and opportunities lost. Then i decided that my whole experience has shaped who i am today, and that is a good thing. Now i dwell on those that are still in who may know TTATT.

i guess the CO came by with a local elder. funny thing is only my husband's name is on it. we are both inactive, but the rumors are that i celebrate everything now (i do). a non jw family member was at home. she trashed it for me. then two sisters came by today while we were at work. this will be my second memorial missed. my husband is inactive, but still believes it is the truth. but he makes no effort to go back either. anyway, i will be glad for Monday to come and be gone. my young children dont even know who or what jehovah is. One of the greatest things i ever did was leave those chains of that religion.
