i have had requests to add an article about beards and jehovah's witnesses.
it is interesting that there is virtually no statement that says a witness cannot have a beard, yet universally they do not have beards.
i have scoured quotes from all the threads on jwn, all references to beard on the cd watchtower library, and copies of elders letters that i have.
I just think it is thelling that to org uses Lev 19:26 to justify blood doctrine, but then ignores (even refutes) the command to never shave that is the very next verse.
26 “‘You must eat nothing containing blood.+ “‘You must not look for omens or practice magic.+
27 “‘You must not shave* the hair on the side of your head* or disfigure the edges of your beard.+

i've always been a very curious person with tons of questions about everything, and i also care deeply particularly about societal issues like social injustice, racism, and homophobia.
that, coupled with how boneheaded all the elders in my congregation are (except for one), led me to ask even more questions that led me to find ttatt.. .

during our chat he said that the previous edition of the nwt was the more correct one, that the revised version was simply more readable and that it shouldn't be considered the best translation.

But I ask you to please focus on the first video at about 57 minutes in and LEARN about WHO these guys are.

I'm not pushing this idea, but leaving the society (if you choose to do so) is the first best step in establishing a true relationship with Christ and God (Jehova). You will see that your desire to be a true christian will be fullfilled by leaving the org, and developing a personal relationship with Christ. You will meet so many really beautiful human beings that are "worldly people". There are so many "bible-based" churches that use King James only and focus not on being 501C-3 mega churches or feel good new-agey places - but have and preach good old bible based theology. before i dive into the actual write-up of this experience, let me put some things straight.. i have thought long and hard if i should write more about my experiences during the 10+ years at different branches.
during these years i worked from financial department, service department, home office and different it assignments.
as you can imagine one sees and hears and reads a lot of stuff going through different stations in different countries.
