one last step..Is being mentally out the same as being emotionally out?
by MissFit inwe talk here about the importance of being mentally and physically out to be really free.. what about being emotionally free?.
i realized for me, i had to be emotionally awake first.
i had been yo-young back and forth for years.

So stuckinarut: are you saying you were already emotionally out ? Or did learning TTATT push you out emotionally also?
I am thinking of the ones here who still have loved ones in. It seems many times they try to wake them up mentally without success.
I am wondering if focusing on the emotional side would be more helpful.
As you said: it is hard to be emotionally tied to something that has been a source of hurt and deception and that has resulted in so much damage in ones life!
So I am wondering if being hurt by the org. and their policies make it easier to be receptive to the doctrinal TTATT.
Also if a person wants to keep their relationships intact and are fading they are still emotionally connected.

We talk here about the importance of being mentally and physically out to be really free.
What about being emotionally free?
What comes first?
I realized for me, I had to be emotionally awake first. I had been yo-yo-ing back and forth for years. Until I found out about Candice Conti and realized the child abuse cover up mentality was a policy not a fluke.
When I started here and read the experiences and life stories, I realized the happiest, most loving people on earth was a fairy tale.
When I was able to disconnect from that lie, I was able to start tackling other " Truths" and mentally leaving.
Which one was harder for you?
Which one came first?

Will JW rape victims die at Armageddon as apostates?
by Zoos inmany jw victims flee the "truth" after elders have raped them and covered it up.
doctrines aside, there would be no reason for one of these young victims to conclude the watchtower environment is god's arrangement on earth.. does the organization acknowledge this irreparable damage or will it write these victims off as apostates, slated for death at armageddon if they choose to get the hell out?.

The stock answer is Jehovah is the final judge and he can read hearts.

Heaven, where you are?
by free2beme inso in the last couple of months we lost robin williams and joan rivers and i have heard something a lot.
i bet they are loving the comedy shows in heaven, or they are now performing with no pain and so on.
so is this the image christians have of heaven, that what you are on earth is what you will be doing in heaven?

My husband and I had a similar conversation. He believes that humans are so full of themselves, so conceited that they can not conceive the notion that they will cease to exist.
He says that compared to the universe, we are just a tiny little speck.
We had this conversation after his grandpa's funeral after listening to the Born-again minister's sermon about grandpa in heaven.
The paradise hope is the same thing. Just a denial of the permanence of death.
I think the idea of people continuing something they enjoyed in heaven is comforting to those left behind.
When someone dies, we also lose all of their potential contributions. We only have memories and past achievements.
There are special people that will leave a mark on history and people that will touch someone's life and live on in memory.
Since we can't prove or disprove life after death or a resurrection, the best thing is to live this life like it is our only one. Cherish our loved ones like it is our only chance.
Don't expect do-overs.
MissFit who is still missing her nephew.

Sunny : that was the point that really got me thinking. It is easy not to really value life if you think it is just a pit stop to something better. That philosophy starts coloring everything you do.
If god was so loving (and existed)and this is just a pit stop, why did he build in this need for us to fight to live? We should be able to just accept death because something better is around the corner.
It just does'nt make sense to me anymore.

I really never stopped to think what people were actually saying when I heard statements like that. They are saying you are better off dead.
My mom makes statements like that about my nonJW sisters.
JWfacts is right: she says it out of love and disrepair. She thinks that will be the only way we will all be together in paradise.
I am surprised there are not more "mercy" killings.
The last time my mom made a statement like that , I excused myself and hung up. I dont have the energy to try to explain to her how messed up and illogical that line of thought is.
