TTATT: short for The Truth About The Truth.
I had to google it when I first started.
and they left the congregations, would you then feel open to be thier friends?.
many on here have the same complaint, that in the jw congregations, there were clickes, no one had time for each other,.
people judged, there was a lack of association, freindship , true concern and love were lacking.

Wow Vidiot. I know what you mean. I fully expected to be destroyed at Armageddon for choosing my family.
Cognac: i'm sorry you are going through such a hard time. I hope your husband realizes how important it is to build a relationship with his family.
we talk here about the importance of being mentally and physically out to be really free.. what about being emotionally free?.
i realized for me, i had to be emotionally awake first.
i had been yo-young back and forth for years.
Well I just talked to my mom the other day. I guess I'm not as emotionally out as I thought I was. She sure knows how to push those buttons.😫
so is it possible to understand a reason and not respect it?
shouldn't understanding lead to a respect of the reasons and actions?.

Legacy,
I can see that a lot of my viewpoints and judgements have changed this past year.
I lol when I read your comment about God & his interest in our sex lives. I just had an Ah ha moment about that's few months ago.
Why indeed would God be do invested in who anyone had sex with?
You can talk about the effects on society and families. But why would God care?

Phizzy: thank you for that clarification between making a judgement and being judgemental.
You said : "that is the problem with the JW mindset, they are right, there is no room for an alternative opinion to be as valid as theirs..it is their way or it is wrong."
I think many other people tend to have that mindset as well.
You can see it in some's attitude toward same sex marriage , evolution, politics.

Legacy: I like that. It does not sound as judgemental.
I think I was reacting to the judgmental attitude without realising it.
I wanted my mom to concentrate on the positive aspects concerning my niece.
She was so focused on the not being married part that she completely overlooked the long term commitment my niece sharedc with her partner.
