If he wasn't breaking any laws, then good for him! These elders behave as they do because the congregation puts up with it. Very amusing how quickly the elder ran to court over this. Like handing out pamphlets at grave yards or even emergency rooms isn't harrassment. These people. Smh

I think it is in the millions. Just considering the number actually suing is so high, when undoubtedly many many more are taking the cash offered to get them to shut up.

So disgusting how so many of these pedos were covered for in the name of Jehovah. Reading the court docs made me want to slap somebody.

I don't understand the psyche of JW
by bobld inthe majority have good jobs, drive newer vehicles, have nice homes,go on vacations.all in all they have the smarts.. however, rwhen it comes to their religion, they are dummer than a sack of hammers.they drive around in circles to get two hours of service time.they can't differentiate what the fds/gb say is from jehovah god, when in reality it is the stuff that comes out of a horses ass.what the horse eats(as it were food at the proper time from the gb) comes out of the horse as manure(shit sounds better) as a loving provision from jehovah.. .

3rdgen, that is very true. Facing such tragic issues are difficult, so some people choose ignorance because it is more comfortable in the now.
I also struggle with understanding why people (like my husband) ignore blatant facts that the religion is a scam. The history is so tainted. Yet he chooses not to even look at the evidence.

Two things that have really made me think.
by thedog1 injust got to say that two things i have found out on this forum have really made me think over the last year.
one is how the gb say that they were appointed in 1919 and how they always say that it was a small group of anointed ones, and they always stress that it was a collective group who did this.
but from this forum i have found out that really it was all judge rutherford's doing, that he was the sole kingpin at that time until his death in 1942, so no 'collective' slave.

That's one of the topics I just don't get...how so many people could put such trust in an organization with such a bizarre history. How, when they see and/or hear of the insanity, they still cling to it as "the truth"

Where does the money go? Who is getting the big payouts? There are many secrets here that would be great to uncover.

by HeyThere insorry this is a bit long...lots of crap has happened in the past few months.

Good god navy town that is true, and so appalling, disturbing, and anti-happifying is it not? It is just so callous. He has been supportive overall. He understood and had no problem with me going out of state for several weeks to be with her. He didn't complain at all. And he has been good, and compromised with our daughter. He just doesn't see how erroneous his thought process is.

Blondie...I completely agree with your post. I think it all boils down to love. I am going to approach him with that when my mind is right. I am fighting depression right now, just was told I have major depression disorder or some crap like that. Well, duh. What do you expect when you lifelong bestfriend/sister dies within weeks.
But I do need to fight this before adding more possible stress to the mix.

Gregor, those are great things to say. Once I have the energy to say them to him. I just can't deal with it now, my child doesn't want me to tell him I know he said this and I want her to continue feeling comfortable talking to me. So for now, I hold it in. Well, except now as I am sharing it here which provides some therapeutic relief I suppose.
