The dumest thing an elder ever said to me..
by new hope and happiness inconversation with an elder...i said " did you watch due south yesterday" and he said " ive got far more important things to do".
i mean that comment of his got me to thinking and wondering, and made me see he was missing out on living..and i think that comment was the straw that broke this boys faith, and started my i dont want to be a witness anymore.
kind of wierd how a simple question opened my eyes.. and now as i write this i am watching " the rebel" a 1950s western series, and its great and its even better my 9 year old is watching with me..and there is nothing more important than being happy.. .

Over the past number of years, I began paying attention to the number of JW's with bad and missing teeth, especially pioneers.
It became a disturbing obsession.

he shoots the breeze for a few minutes and i show him the apt.

maybe I am reading too much
by roberto avon inwhile i was reading a book ( picture emclosed ) some toughts came up in my mind.
brothers in the usa are not allowed to have a moustache unlesse it concerns coloured brothers but white brothers are allowed to have a beard if they are bold ( i read it on this forum ) so i am very sorry for the coloured brothers who want a beard, no way!.
in france, brothers are allowed to have a beard and in scandinavia " longer " hair ( i would like to advise " worlds apart " a very interesting movie about shunning ).. so if a french, coloured brother moves to scandinavia and let his hair grow and then .

My memorial visit this year.
by TweetieBird inso i have a jw relative now living with me so i went to the memorial this year with him since he is new to the hall and doesn't really know anyone.
the warmth was amazing (insert sarcasm here).
one witness couple that has been stopping by and relatively new to the area saved us seats so they talked to me, one other sister and her brother talked to me.

That was, and is, (and probably always will be) the deal-breaker scripture.
For me, the witnesses do apply it for neutrality.
But, as is often cited even in talks, what about day-to-day life?

car groups and two bros tried stopping by my house recently but i was not home or gates were locked.

after which, the wtbts plagiarised the idea and presented it as a "new understanding/clarification" in their watchtower magazine.. please read the net bible at matthew 24:48, then read the footnote.

If you are literally moving, do not give them your new address.
If you have trustworthy friends or relatives in another city, have your records sent to the hall in that city, or just make up an address and city.
(Never really understood the meaning of Witness Protection Program before)

There had been a bro. in our hall who was always making interesting comments (another year away from 1914, etc., always something - we're both rather intelligent, so I was probably the only one that he dared talk to like that).
Because I was doing an unknowing (to me) fade, and I ended up in a blindside JC, I couldn't talk to him.
And then I ended up here after.
If I had been here prior, I would be feeling out my friends first before deciding anything else.

It is probably on here somewhere, but was reading Matthew yesterday.
The ONLY directive that COULD be applied to JW work Mt. 28:19 (Mt 24:14 is a prophecy, not a directive), which directive is to baptize in the "name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit."
How would Miss K say JW's measure up when comparing Jesus' words with the actual 2 questions asked at baptism?
