To the original post question, yes I do. I think maybe partly because I was so long not allowed to. I say God Bless, God Knows, Jesus Christ!, for God's sake...sort of like I say Good Luck! or why I propose a toast to friends and good times even though I don't believe in luck or the original purpose for toasting. Also I never miss a chance to say, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

newbie to site looking for fellow DF's and DA's (or anyone else who has good conversation to offer)
by eyefell4it2 ini am new to the site.
i started perusing it this weekend and wish i had found it 10 years ago when i was on my way out.
anyways, long story short, was df'd for you guessed it...fornication or "loose conduct" even though i had been a pioneer with an elder father, grandfather and uncle and no previous issues.

Eyefell,
Say you just found this site this weekend? Welcome! You will find it comforting as you read about many who have gone through common things as we exited Wally World. I left about 15 years ago and haven't looked back. The best advice I received during my exit is that what JWs teach and indoctrinate has no bearing whatsoever to reality.

My wife is a huge fan. I couldn't stand the disgusting slurping noise the "walkers" make. For a long time she watched it alone. She recently talked me into watching a couple of the first episodes so I would understand the premise. Still, I could take it or leave it but if she has it on I'll watch it. Kind of like a train wreck.

The Jehovah's Witness religion has gone for good !!!
by snare&racket ini am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.
the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.
different teachings on when the end is coming.

Wow Snare,
What a great year old post! If it wasn't for reading posts on this site, I wouldn't have realized just how much the cult has changed. Your good-bye list brought back memories I haven't thought of in years. Most of them humorous. It hadn't really occurred to me that the religion I left, other than some fundamental craziness, no longer exists. Again, great post!

Waking up your spouse
by All for show ini am aware this has to be done quite carefully, but how?
while many may complain and see the hypocrisy within the kh's, maybe even with the gb, how does one bring up doctrine issues?
i surely can not tell my husband to "go look what jwfacts.com says".

My ex is one of the smartest people I know. When she and I discussed any topic regarding the error of JW world she could not cope with the cognitive dissonance. She would shut down and go into the, well we just have trust Jehovah and the GB, mantra. I tried different approaches and many times there would be only one conclusion and it would not be in agreement with Wally World. She would never take that final step and say they are wrong. My point being, with some people, no matter how smart one may be, he or she will stay. Know when to give up and move on for the sake of your own well being.

Divorcing my husband of 13 years...
by 2pink inmy husband and i were both born ins.
i left in 2009, and he followed me out a bit later.
we were one of those couples who followed the script, married young and ended up having nothing in common other than the religion.

Keep that in mind and you will be fine. As long as you have that attitude you are well on your way.
Keep us posted.

I'm out- Random thoughts on leaving as I look in the rear view mirror
by Skinnedsheep init is amazing to look back at three years and see the journey that we have taken.
i went from being an elder to fading completely in the course of those three years.
along the way i am happy to say that my lovely wife woke up and realized that the truth is nothing but a lie.

Skinnedsheep, it does my heart good to hear about anyone freeing themselves from that crazy world. Out of curiosity last night I read about the "overlapping generation" thing on JWfacts. I just laughed and wondered how anyone could swallow that bullsh*t. Congratulations to you!

Welcome, Powermetal, I was a believer and found it brutal to sit through most meetings and going in field service. I don't know how you non- believers do it. Look forward to your posts.

Did he think he was clever, funny, or just wanted to make JWs look stupid with a ha-ha-I'll-show them?! He accomplished exactly nothing except making himself look like a total ass. IMHO, not the way to make a point. As much as I don't believe in their message, the video made me feel bad for them.
