  Is it naive to believe that you will always be faithful to your partner?

  i was told i was naive for saying that i'd never cheat - ever.

  but i meant it honestly.

  i guess my question is, can it happen to anyone?

  To how many things has anyone said "I would NEVER do that."

  But somewhere down the line, whether tomorrow , next week, next year, or when ever.

  But when the. shall we say, the "temptation" arises - You do it.

  All it needs is the opportunity and to some extent the circumstances, to arise.

  Of course if we are talking about being unfaithful to a partner.

  The other factor to take into account is the "persuasivness" of the "other" person you may meet.

  I can say "I will NEVER go sky diving." because its something that will not come to me and tempt me.

  But if I meet a woman who looks, speaks, acts in a way , towards me, that arouses me. Then we are talking about something different.

  To say "I would NEVER..." is being naive. Once the reason, motive, opportunity present themselves .... who knows.

  Is Jesus Jehovah?

  i'm watching some youtube video's from newagegamer3018.

  before in my research...i watched some of his video's when he was a jw apoligist.

  now he has da'd himself and is defending the scriptures, not jw's.. this is the first time ever that i actually am starting to think/beleive that jesus and jehovah are the same thing.

  And I don't mean the Watchtowers version of three gods.

  But the Christian teaching that the Trinity is God in three persons.

  Would it be impossible for it to be so?

  do you think that with global media and the internet that it would ever be possible for a new world religion to arise or a messiah of some sort?.

  christianity got its start in 33 a.d.. islam got its start in the seventh century.. the most recent movements are the sects of christianity, such as the mormons and jws which had their start in the latter half of the nineteenth century.. even scientology which got it start in the 1950s began in an age where investiagtive journalism and global media coverage were not around to test mr. hubbards claims for truth.. there will always be individuals who believe that they are the messiah but i'm talking more along the lines of a religion that could get as big as islam or christianity.. .

  the ones that i have met (bible believers) all seem to accept the current scientific consensus that the earth orbits the sun.

  i'm not saying that they all reject bible truth but i suspect that the majority do..

  Sorry but whats your point? Are you suggesting that the bible says the sun goes round the earth?

  Where in scripture does it say that the Earth doesn't orbit the sun?

  Why do you believe in the Trinity?

  i believe in god but no longer accept the wt's views.

  i still find the idea of the trinity hard to accept, however, probably because of my jw upbringing.

  a coworker's child died and i attended the church memorial.

  Someone once said that not seeing the Trinity in the Bible is like going out on a clear day and saying there is no sun.

  After spending a long time after leaving the JWs , I can see it.

  I can't understand it , but its there.

  What would be the iceburg to the WT's Titanic?

  the illustration in my question was inspired by the great mr flipper who likened going back to the borg as "swimming back to the titanic".

  it seems to me that the many and various things that woke us all up are like iceflows to the wtbs,little bumps that they shrug off and ignore,it dosn't seem to matter that these things are huge to us,and shattered our faith that the wt had any connection with truth.. so as the u.n debacle,peadophile scandals,lies exposed etc etc are all ignored by the passengers on the wt titanic,the band is still playing and the ship is unsinkable from their point of view.. what would be the iceburg that would rip a hole in the side of this floating ship of lies?.

  i cannot think of anything bigger than the things it now shrugs off,any ideas?.

  It wasn't the iceberg that sank the Titanic, but design faults in the structure of the ship.

  Will there be something within the Watchtower organisation it self that will cause it to sink?

  Will factions form and break away, will there be divisions in the Governing Body?

  Will Bethel members say they have had enough of being treated like slaves and walk out?

  Will the very structure of the WT organisation , District Overseers, Circuit Overseers, Elders, itself implode?

  Will it like the Titanic as it sinks take many with it , while those who got away in the lifeboats watch?

  UK Kingdom halls situated in terrible areas

  as some one who who has travelled britian well, i must make known an observation.

  almost all kingdom halls are in really bad areas.

  fron travelling around scotland i see in edinburgh, glasgow, kilbrinie, bellshill , hamilton, kirkcaldy, glenrothes, methil, dundee, aberdeen, inverness, the halls are in a terrible place where unemployment is rife, drug taking common place and just downright poverty and crime is seen.

  The KH that I first went to was a small prefabricated building in a central location. Then when the congregation grew and split into two congregations, we eventually had to build a new one. The site found was about 3 miles from were the old one was, in quite a good part of the town. But for some it meant a longer ride to get to it. We had the Regional Building Committee guiding us in the build. I must say that we did end up with a lovely KH that could seat getting on for 300. But now from what I have heard both congregations have a struggle to get a quarter of that number. The cost, which was 20 years ago, was £160,000. They recently had it valued for insurance at £1.5 million.

  About climate change.

  Had TV on this afternoon not taking much notice of it though. Guy said that back in the 1970's the scientists were predicting an Ice Age by the year 2000. One guy, unfortunately didn't catch his name, wrote about saying how this "ice age" would effect the earth.

  Now 30 years on, this same guy has written a book showing how "global warming" will effect the earth.

  Also considering that they say this week in Britain that tempratures could hit -13 in some places.

  No wonder people are sceptical about "global warming"

  Meetings: Are They Morons?

  so, the new arrangement for meetings includes a jam-packed ministry school/service meeting and book study that ends at 8:45pm in many halls - unless they go overtime!.

  these geniuses tried to create a family night because they realize witness families are falling apart so they created an awfully long meeting instead that will often take place on a thursday night - just prior to friday when countless kids have tests in school scheduled!.

  good for them!

  As far as I can see the meeting is the same length as it has always been. In fact when I became a JW in 1971 this meeting started at 7pm and finished at 9pm.

  When I attended my last meeting in 1999 it started at 7:15pm and finish at 8:45pm and I mean finished.

  Also depending on the congregation it was either on a Tuesday or a Thursday.

  From what I see in the KM schedule they seem to be only doing about 6 paragraphs of the study book. At that rate how long will it take them to do a book?

  is there some connection between the digital tv mandate and freeing up the airwaves in preparation for rfid?.

  doesn't scripture say that satan is the prince of the power of the air?.

  anyone else think there could be a connection here?.
